I don't have the facts, but I think now it's become personal between him and IK, PDM be damned.
The inferences were that he allowed corruption of his family/family friends or looked the other way.
Do realize that we (all of Pakistan governments including PTI) were/are being asked to take sides. The army leadership was signaling to the Brits that we don't want to burn bridges on their end. Regardless of what one is quoted, Pakistan is not walking away from China. It is just not an...
This is not a joke or a laughing matter. These chaps are literally fighting for their lives in a system that is unfairly stacked against them.
Had it been Sharifs or Zardaris, they would have already made a deal and taken flight out of Pakistan.
I don't know any of these folks personally, but...
You are fully entitled to sharing your views here. You are not making policy inside GHQ or MoI. Members on the other side of the political divide should be mindful of this.
Second, nothing is all bad or all good, specially large organizations.
People should realize that one change at the top...
Point taken, perhaps the hope lies with the SC given a new precedence is being set by bringing PAA into non-military domain which is the purview of the Pakistani legal system. The former may not allow this overreach.
He definitely gave some information to IK because that did lead to his removal from ISID. Remember, prior to all of the recent past statements about his character, OTS pedigree etc., etc, when he was DGI and DGMI, he had a good reputation for being upright and straightforward. After becoming...
We are past comparing him to other politicians. I am objective so while I don't consider IK an angel, he is certainly better than others by miles.
IK should be compared to the crop that is seeing what is happening and willing to take none of it. This is the generation that will produce...
Also called life....
Unless Pakistan turns into a country of angels, you get the good with the bad. A visionary leaders sees the wheat through the chaff and keeps the chaff at an arms length or manages to work around. No different than a good corporate/military leader who has the ability to...
I believe AT courts are worse than being tried under PAA...it is much harder to appeal AT court verdicts.
They would become redundant if they let PAA being applied to non-uniformed citizens...perhaps from a turf-protection perspective (and not a higher calling), the judiciary may fight this hard.
Arresting family members is a ghatiyya-tareen (I am being civil) harba that only the lowest of the low would resort to.
These idiots are not thinking through the scars being put on the nation's psyche due to their ill-conceived, stupid measures.
There is only so much "sparing" you can do. On top of that, Typhoon is probably the most challenging platform to own given any consortium member can take a gripe and pose problems with spares etc. In the future, anytime there is any contention with India, BD will find these levers being used...
Ok spoke too soon. But I still believe any civilian charged under PAA can challenge this in civilian courts which is not to say that everyone tried is innocent. Some people did do significant damage and they should be tried and punished, but one can only hope this does not become a vendetta...
BTW, there's no specific mention of PAA being applied to civilians, rioters etc. from any official channel. Even the ISPR release did not mention this specifically even though the title of the thread/quoted article does:
General Syed Asim Munir, COAS presided over Special Corps Commanders...
I think there is a need to apportion a lot of this blame to the local administration. The executioners are all Punjab police under Rana Sanaullah et-al. I feel the fingers are only being pointed at the khaki and bc of that, the abettors from PDM will do what they always do i.e. play innocent...
This is a good question.
I honestly have not been able to get clarity on this from anyone.
My own take (this has been my consistent thinking) is that it is the external alignment (read the US/West) that is driving Army's stubborn stance on anything-but-IK dispensation (we are beyond the...
Replacement with yes-men has been going on ever since the founding of this army. And I should say it happens all over the world and in corporate too but the difference in Pakistan is that our army is involved in things it has no business being involved in.
Every single C-in-C, CoAS, and senior...
