    PMLN and PTI Similarities

They have similar stories, but not the same. NS was fully from a Zia political nursery, then the establishment's blue eyed boy, they did political engineering to bring him in, then they abandoned him with the President dissolving the whole show. Early 90s was the period. Imran started off as...

People chanting CHOR CHOR on shahbaz sharif at masjid e nabvi

I reserve my comment in that case. It would be poor taste to do it within the masjid to say the least IMO.

People chanting CHOR CHOR on shahbaz sharif at masjid e nabvi

I’m not SS’ keeper. By the way, if shouting slogans at Quaid’s mazar is worth a booking, is it cool if we chant slogans at Masjid e Nabvi?

Country needs $12bn to avert run on forex

Agree, Roshan digital accounts will see a lot of outflows because overseas don’t trust the old guard the way they trust IK. But the accounts were a good idea, IMO the current lot should continue the policy and continue to give assurances for it. How liquid are the funds though? Can one withdraw...

US won’t rule out military action if China establishes base in Solomon Islands

China can’t have foreign bases, but if we have 50 it’s cool. I sincerely hope China succeeds in clawing back control over a lot of their part of the Pacific, world police needs to be knocked down a few pegs.

Country needs $12bn to avert run on forex

Yes, but it has to be said that a lot of us send money home because it’s needed, or for physical investment purposes, that won’t stop. Also, I think the current mutant coalition might actually find it easier to secure concessions from the IMF and also easier support from the likes of Saudi...

Country needs $12bn to avert run on forex

Welcome to 2022, same as 2018, same as 2013. Forex crises in Pakistan last about as long as our Prime Ministers, they’re never quite done term wise and often aborted early.

IMF agrees to extend the stalled bailout programme by up to one year and increase the loan size to $8 billion

Our region saw multiple policy induced famines, British still ruled us. But yes I agree, a reckoning has to happen sometime. This always reminds me of that quote from Mark Blyth, advising the elite that the Hamptons are not a defensible position. Substitute US elites for ours, substitute the...

IMF agrees to extend the stalled bailout programme by up to one year and increase the loan size to $8 billion

In the long term, the aim is not to have to make the choice. In the short to medium term it’s either this or your masses starve. Not much of a choice on the latter. I blame governments and the powerful for putting us in the position. Not for going to the IMF when there’s no choice.

IMF agrees to extend the stalled bailout programme by up to one year and increase the loan size to $8 billion

Lmao at all the Immy sycophants railing against this bailout. Every government in our modern history has taken IMF bailouts, they all had no choice, including this one and including the last one.

No foreign conspiracy to oust Imran govt: NSC

Wake me up when this letter/cable/minutes/notes/cipher actually surfaces. Until then we saw a sportsman who lost fairly and then through a tantrum.

Rupee falls to Rs189.5 against dollar in inter-bank

It'll continue to devalue forever as long as we don't break the deficit cycle and continue bailout programmes.

Govt to wind up CPEC authority

CPEC authority ordinance ran out a long time ago, it's a pointless organisation made to monopolise control of the CPEC portfolio. CPEC ran fine before it, and will be fine after it's dead (which it already was).

Statement by Veterans of Pakistan ( VOP). 20th April.

Need a massive public enquiry, investigate lettergate, investigate claims against the army chief and subordinates. Summon everyone for hearings and make them all swear under oath what they did or did not do.

Please do not abuse all army personnel

Pakistan could use some implementation of current libel laws. The Chief can be personally aggrieved.

Reference against Justice Isa was a ‘mistake’: Imran

BS accusations never last, libel is illegal in a lot of countries.

Read your history, you'll understand them. You might then also understand how IK fits in.

Pakistan Army takes notice of Propaganda Campaign to Defame armed forces: ISPR

Every establishment experiment ends this way. They should stick to testing missiles. At least those experiments aren't doomed to failure.
