3 years after the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) approves the funding for the program, which will release funds to build the first prototype.
If that happens in 2023, then it will be in 2026 that the first AMCA prototype will roll out.
And so India is going to go with the F-414 for the initial batch of the AMCA.
IF the engine JV for the 110 kN turbofan with a foreign partner comes through, we may see a AMCA Mk2 with that 110 kN engine in the 2040s.
How about Janes?

First pic from Exercise Desert Flag VIII. Unfortunately the UAE put a blanket ban on images from the exercise being released. Only these and a few others have emerged.

Already salvaged. Floatation devices were employed prior to the crew ditching at sea. The ALH itself was floating on them and was removed from the water.
ORCA stood for 'Omni Role Combat Aircraft' and was meant to be a HAL twin engine fighter derivative of the TEDBF.
I think what you meant was the LCA SpORT (Supersonic OmniRole Trainer) that was shown earlier. It is that cockpit set up, and it was a part of the Embedded Virtual Training System...
Also confirmed with the person that took the video that this LA-5021 is indeed a Tejas Mk1A prototype!
From Grp Cpt HVT, Tejas EVTS (Embedded Virtual Training System)
Tejas Mk1 fighters are in UAE at Al Dhafra for their first international exercise outside India.
They are participating in the Exercise Desert Flag VIII with 5 Tejas Mk1 jets.
MiG-21s in the IAF completed 60 years in service! Obviously none of the current MiG-21s are that old, but the first variant of the MiG-21 F13 entered service in the IAF 60 years ago.
These pics of the MiG-21 Bison released by the IAF are among the best ever!

Well missiles fired from over 100 kms away are unlikely to do anything but cause the opposing fighters to turn away to evade them. But eventually the business jet will be also within the shooting range of the enemy fighter and that time it doesn't have the speed or the maneuverability to...
Not sure what you're implying. Such platforms lack the speed, maneuverability and survivability of fighters and hence can't take on the role of fighters.
That is simply a Flying Testbed for the indigenous Uttam AESA radar to be used on fighters. AFAIK, the Hawker 8000 jet was leased by DRDO...
Excellent!
The order will be split between Tata Advanced Systems Ltd and Bharat Forge. The way it was supposed to work was that the prototypes were built by TASL and BF and of these, the preferred prototype would get something like 60% of the orders while the remaining 40% would go to the other...
First C-295M of the IAF.
Finally the contract is done!
6 years to deliver 70 HTT-40s. The first couple of years there will be much smaller deliveries which will then scale up.
This cost includes ancillary equipment on the ground for repair and maintenance plus and simulators.
For the MRFA? That'll be at a very optimistic assessment, at least 5 years after the RFP is out.
2 years for the selection, contract signature, etc. (and that is a very optimistic assumption given how our procurement works) and 3 years after that for the first fighter to be delivered to IAF...
