Pakistan showing interest in J-16?

It's a good idea. I think J16 is still advanced enough to control the sky of South Asia for 15-20 years.
What's more, the AESA, EOTS, missiles, smart bombs, engines are made in China. However, I am not sure how many production lines of this type, its series such as electronic warfare plane, spy plan, jammers are in the queque of development and productions.

hasn't WS13 equipped j-10s crashed multiple times last year due to engine failure?
there is a RD-33 which is slightly tweaked to burn more efficiently creating more thrust and in turn becoming smokeless... guess only russia and china has those atm...

stealth is basically a marketing campaign... modern radars that the russians and chinese have can easily detect stealth aircrafts.... it's all about reducing RCS to the least possible.... the value can't ever be a perfect 0... atleast not in a manned fighter and with current tech and materials available...
PAK FA trades off all around stealth for maneuverability.... and uses stealth coating on parts which can't be hidden to help reduce signature...
F-22 rather focuses on as much stealth as possible....
and so on.... i wonder how j-20 with it's canard manage or manages to be stealthy

What power plant they use WS10? Anybody please who knows. I think the WS10 lacked somewhat as per Wikipedia

:p::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::argh::fans: ouch WS-10 sorry.... that was the one with engine problems and crashed multiple j-10 last year... killing china's first female pilot too....

So what but J-10 engine is not WS-13:hitwall::blah: and currently they are equipping J-10B with WS-10A:p:

Those J10 crashed with Russian AL31FN, not WS13. WS13 is only for JF17 and FC31.

Apparently the news is coming from PAF sources and I think the chances are more for J-16 than Su35 which was mostly by the pdf members and based on some interests. Though the officials confirmation is not available but this is one source which bhartis can't meddle with. The chance if this deal are higher because Pakistan can get a soft loan from China and pay it on longer term basis while for Su35 PAF needs hard cash which apparently they don't have. JF-17, J-16 and J-31 will share some systems and integration will perhaps be easier if the same architecture and PL has been used. And J-16 is really a truck and will be suited for deep penetration in india and also for the maritime roles.

There are three main factors that determine the lethality of a stealth plane:

1. Stealth (RCS + Heat signature).
2. EW/ECCM.
3. Weapons package.

All of these work together to avoid BFM. Some of them (like designing the curves to reduce RCS) are contradictory with maneuverability. If you want to discuss BFM, you might as well invest your money in a high maneuverability aircraft rather than a stealth aircraft. When we say we want the PAF to go for J-31, we are basically supporting stealth over maneuverability.

How can you say 'modern radars that the russians and chinese have can easily detect stealth aircrafts'? Where is your source for this? And how can you be sure that India will have such radars?

Pakdef probably have some inside info so we can take it as probability but until officially PAF tells anything where they are going we will be getting news like this that paf getting SU-35 to J-11/15/16/18/31 .

On topic I can give one opinion PAF/PN should have some heavy weight like this to give maximum punch in a sortie /mission.
