RAWALPINDI: Indian forces once again resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control on Monday, seriously injuring three Pakistani troops, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.

The unprovoked fire came in Bhimber sector of the LoC, which the Pakistani forces responded befittingly to, the ISPR said.

However, the cross-border fire wounded three Pakistani soldiers, who were shifted to hospital.

Of late, India has been violating the ceasefire along the LoC and the Working Boundary.

Earlier this month, a 25-year-old labourer named Ashfaq was martyred as a result of Indian firing in Khuiratta sector.

Three Pakistan Army soldiers who were injured in Indian firing at LoC have succumbed to their injuries. The martyred include Naik Ghulam Rasool, Naik Imran Zafar and Sepoy Imam Bukhsh.

A statement from the Inter-Services Public relations (ISPR) had earlier informed about the injured in a statement issued on Monday.

At least three Pakistan Army soldiers were injured in Indian firing across the Line of Control (LoC), the statement said.

The incident occurred in the Thoob sector of Bhimber district.

The ISPR statement added that Indian forces also suffered casualties in the latest incident of cross-border skirmishing.

Tense relations
Incidents of cross-border firing were reported with frequency in the last months of 2016 as tensions simmered between Pakistan and India over the Kashmir issue. Exchanges of fire have been reported sporadically since the new year began.

Following the Uri army base attack in September, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped up a drive to isolate Pakistan diplomatically.

In the days following the attack, India claimed to have conducted a cross-border ‘surgical strike’ against ‘launch pads of terror’ in Azad Jammu and Kashmir — a claim Pakistan strongly rejected.

Pakistan maintains that India is attempting to divert the world’s attention away from ‘atrocities’ committed by government forces in India-held Kashmir.

The two countries have locked horns over the Kashmir issue after Indian forces stepped up a crackdown against protesters after Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani was killed by government forces in July.

We should bring some heads.

In another incident on November 24, three Pakistan Army soldiers were killed and ISPR claimed the killing of seven Indian soldiers in the same incident.

Its election time in India. Do you think that Mooodi will hide facts which suits his anti-Pakistan agenda ?

Why would you?

Intense LoC confrontation is actually in India's strategic and tactical interests.

..as is turmoil inside Pakistan.

It's actually in the interest of the whole world in general.

We will have 10 soldiers dead on both sides and nothing to show for that, what will they or us gain by flaring up the LOC?

Martyered...

I'm actually quite intrigued by the liberal throwing around of this word 'martyrdom' by Pakistanis. Please educate me.

Who is a martyr and who isn't?

I mean I'm inclined to believe that soldiers are martyrs but I've seen Pakistanis call even victims of terror attacks 'martyrs'. Even BB is a 'Shaheed' for Pakistanis.

I'm just curious as to how it works? Everybody is a martyr or are only soldiers supposed to be martyrs?

We will have 10 soldiers dead on both sides and nothing to show for that, what will they or us gain by flaring up the LOC?

A lot of things but that would be better saved for another thread.

Would revealing the casualties help in any way.....Pakistan bashing is usually the vote winner.

Then you don't know anything about Indian elections.

I'd advise you to listen to all of Modi's recent election rally speeches (if you have the time or inclination) and do a mathematical calculation of %age time devoted to Pakistan in total.

Fact check - It's less than 10%.

Indians (as a mass in general) don't vote on Pakistan issues. Indians vote on Caste, religion, populism, development, inflation, and corruption.

...and these days demonetization too.

Like I always say, read something other than ISPR propaganda and eat something other than Fauji Corn Flakes.

You should also go out more often or even change the brand of cola .
This is your earlier banter....
