The GDP figure cited comes from the World Bank database. I'm not sure how WB collects the data.You mean comparison after converting LCU to dollar, so perhaps currency manipulation?
My interpretation is:
- China's GDP is indeed underestimated, or the Chinese government is too dishonest.
- The massive scale of the Chinese automobile industry eases the difficulty for an ordinary person to own a car.
