Israel has plans to take 3,176 acres of Palestinian land around a West Bank village near central Jerusalem, according to residents of the village who were handed orders signed by the head of IDF Central Command, Ma’an news agency reports.

Beit Iksa residents told Ma’an that the orders, signed by the Israeli military commander in the West Bank, Nitzan Alon, were distributed Saturday morning by the soldiers. They gave residents of the village until 2017 to evacuate the land.
Ma’an also published maps of the areas to be expropriated.

Soldiers who are deployed at the military checkpoint at the entrance to the village have also told the residents that a liaison officer would be arriving in the village on Monday to clarify the order.

Soldiers said that the decision had been made in 2012 to seize land for “security needs in this village adjacent to the green line,” Palestinian news agency WAFA reported. They said the new order was intended to reinforce a previously taken decision.

The IDF spokesman’s office refused to comment on the report to the Times of Israel.

The village is an area of great sensitivity because it is situated less than a kilometer from Route 1 – the main road from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv – and it is surrounded on all sides by the Israeli West Bank barrier. Israeli forces closed off roads leading to the village in 2006.

Ma’an reports that 93 percent of the village is already under full Israeli military control, and the lands are de-facto already confiscated. Villagers cannot go to Jerusalem without permits, and Palestinians from other areas cannot access the village.

The mayor of Beit Iksa, Saʻadeh al-Khatib, told WAFA that human rights organizations had to step in to help rescind the order as it would prevent scores of farmers from accessing their own lands.

The occupied territories of the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza Strip have been seeking full statehood and independence from Israel for decades now, with thousands of people having perished in one of the most prolonged and bitter confrontations in modern history.

The Palestinians have lobbied for full recognition as a sovereign state from the UN and the international community. Palestine has already been granted non-member, observer-state status in the UN and it continues to push for recognition while Israel continues to proceed with plans to build thousands of new settler homes in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

More than 500,000 Israelis live in settlements in the West Bank and around east Jerusalem, built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

Israel approved “an unprecedented” number of 13,851 new settler homes during nine-months of peace talks with Palestine, an Israeli NGO revealed in April.

The plans were all in West Bank areas, with 4,793 units approved for the construction in “isolated”settlements and 1,768 units closer to the Green Line, which separates Israeli territory and the occupied West Bank.

I have a dream....that one day Muslims will forget their petty differences, tribal feuds and nationalistic ambitions. Borders will be erased overnight and Israel will be faced not by a Palestine consisting of West Bank and Gazza but a Palestine consisting of Islamabad, Riyadh, Ankara, Amman, Tehran, Cairo and Jakarta. I have a dream.....

This is the same thing American colonists did in the 1800s. This is absolutely ridiculous. In 20 years all Palestinians will be huddled in one corner of the West Bank....

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and the UAE consider Hamas to be worse than Israel so there isn't going to be any solidarity from Arabs.

The people over those areas hate their regimes too. A unfied Arab country is possible but for that an intelligent, charismatic, ambitious and tactful person is required. Thus corruption can be lowered and more advancement in scientific research can be achieved.

Also most of those militarise are badly trained and lack dedication to their country (the wars with Israel is a prime example) thus showing nationalism hasn't quite got a grip over there. Also they get their butts whipped by a bunch of militias carrying AK-47s.

Gaza Strip, Israel will take the whole of West Bank.

Its ethnic cleansing because infrastructure is constantly destroyed to prevent economy and population to grow , and same time land is stolen are constant intervals to alter the residential realities for population

It happened before in US with native indians , went from 100% population to mere 0.01% of present day population

What Israel does is perhaps more brutal as it destroys civilian structure (War crime) in great sale

This is illegal under international law. Only the Israelis can get away with such actions without any sanctions. If Iran did this kind of stuff, Oh man they would be on their case like theres no tomorrow.

Where is the international community? This is clearly as @AZADPAKISTAN2009 stated a slow paced ethnic cleansing and I would also call it a genocide since it intends to erase the Palestinian national identity. This is illegal as fellow users above have stated. Yet we get no sanctions.

The international community is a fraud or it can't act against Israel. Why?

If the Arabs in Egypt began moving this could happen. Once Egyptians display some leadership then Saudi's will follow. The Mujahideen in Syria are fighting with their lives with no support on a daily basis and the Muslim males who seek to restore our dignity have migrated there. It will begin in Syria, while the ones in Palestine are waiting for this to happen in Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan. And volunteers will come from all over if we get initiative in place. We have to have one state, there is no longer an alternative.

Please tell me you aren't referring to da'sih (ISIS)

Please tell me you aren't referring to da'sih (ISIS)

How am I referring to them? You realize there are hundreds of thousands of Mujahideen in Syria who follow the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet(SAW) and they will be the ones who begin the resurgence for Islam. Syria will be the stage for it. If you think Iran or Hezbollah are going to lead that then you're lost. Fighting for Islam isn't fighting for Iranian interests.

The line between ISIS and the FSA is not that great. Many radical jihadists like to join the FSA because if they pretend to be "moderate" they can get foreign assistance.
"Oh yes Uncle Sam I really love you can I have a missile please?"
