Ziaur Rahman's body was burnt and dumped in Halda river

The then President Ziaur Rahman was wearing a white Punjabi and pajamas when he was assassinated at the Chittagong Circuit House 40 years ago. Zia was wearing a vest and pajamas that night, the BNP leader claimed Zia was wearing a vest and pajamas that night, the BNP leader claimed Give me the lotus Read in 2 minutes This has been mentioned in the statement of case as well as the statement of the eyewitness. Meanwhile, all those whose bodies were taken from Rangunia's grave to Dhaka were wearing military uniforms.

Meanwhile, sources said that Ziaur Rahman's body was burnt along with his vehicle and dumped in the Halda river before reaching Rangunia. In the context of the recent controversy over the tomb of Chandrima Udyan in the capital, some information has come to light based on conversations with eyewitnesses at that time. Read more: ‘Although not shot directly, Zia led the liberation war According to the case filed by the then Assistant Commissioner of Police Mokarram Hossain, Ziaur Rahman's body had been lying on the stairs for a long time after the murder on May 30 at 4 pm.

Colonel Mahfuz prevented the police from rescuing the body. Later, some other members of the army went and took the bodies of Ziaur Rahman and other slain army personnel in a vehicle. A team led by Major Khaled received a wireless message from a senior official on the way to Rangunia with the body. Major Khaled sent the rest of the body to Rangunia but set fire to Ziaur Rahman's car. Burnt bodies and vehicles were later dumped from the Madunaghat Bridge into the Halda River. Siru Bangali, a freedom fighter who listened to the testimonies of those involved in the incident, said that before Major Khaled's death, he had given the details of an eyewitness to one of them. He said that after burning Zia's body with petrol with his own hands, we all pushed the hearse and threw it in the Halda river. Although the BNP leaders denied the fact that Ziaur Rahman's body was burnt, they confirmed that he was wearing white Punjabi and pajamas at the time of Ziaur Rahman's death.

The police also mentioned similar clothes in the case statement. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, the then general secretary of Nagar BNP, said, "My last meeting with Ziaur Rahman was at 12:30 pm, in his bed room, he was wearing a vest and pajamas." We talked, after talking I left. After we left, we got the news at around 4 pm that something like this had happened here. According to historians, even two days after the murder, when the remains of Zia's body were not found, the bodies of some people were taken to Dhaka from a grave next to a shrine in Rangunia. Qutb Uddin Chowdhury, a freedom fighter and eyewitness to the exhumation, said the bodies of the three people who were exhumed were all wearing military uniforms. I did not see the body of anyone wearing Punjabi or genji being taken there. The BNP claimed that Ziaur Rahman was buried in the Chandrima Udyan adjacent to the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban after his removal from Rangunia. However, the government says Ziaur Rahman was not buried there. As Ziaur Rahman's body was not in that coffin in 1971, the then administration did not allow the family to see the face of the body as per custom.

This is extreme hate-mongering...what BD govt will achieve by doing this. Expat BD already saying now, we been betrayed by India and now the dust is clear and some say India fooled us. It seems internal resentment against the present govt revenge policy is increasing.

No, no. You have a mistaken conception. What you may call Salwar-Kurta, we call Pajama-Punjabi although the look is different.

Bright coming from a west cuckie whose ancestors betrayed the Ottoman Empire
The ottoman Sultan had different priorities which didn't include saving his people and nation

Vahdettin (Sultan) was 61 years old when he married Mrs.
the bride lady was only 19 years old.

Vahdettin had 2 daughters, one 27 years old and the other 29 years old, when he bought himself a wife of 19 years old.

The more important point here is that on the day of Vahdettin's wedding to his 19-year-old bride, the Greek army had crossed to the east of Sakarya and was forcing the gates of Ankara.

Our national forces under the command of Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Pasha were defending every inch of Anatolia's lands in Sakarya with the philosophy of "There is no line defense, there is only the surface defense, that surface is the whole homeland".

1/3 of the army had fled the war at that time, unfortunately...

those who fled may have thought; "While we are trying to defend the homeland with our heads on the couch, our sultan and caliph are having a wedding with a crispy bride..."

Would a person who loves his homeland even a little marry under these conditions?

our ''ottoman'' friend here seems to be a big fan of this guy.

Why’s the Bangladesh government digging up ancient events? Is it an attempt to rile up nationalism and to hide their own failings?
