Yemen, Pakistan emphasize trade relations' development

    SANA'A,Dec.29(Saba)- The Yemeni-Pakistani Joint Ministerial Committee emphasized Wednesday on the development of bilateral trade relations and promoting cooperation between the two countries.

    This came at the end of the Committee's sixth session held in Sana'a and co-chaired by co-chaired by Minister of Trade and Industry Yayha al-Mutawakil and Pakistani Minister of Industry and Production Mir Hazar Khan, who signed the minutes of this session.

    Al-Mutawakil and Khan confirmed the sincere desire of the two countries in the development of economic and trade cooperation and the future cooperation in all areas of common concern.

    The two sides agreed upon naming ten representatives from each side to the Yemeni-Pakistani Businessmen Council during a month and to hold its first meeting during the first quarter of 2011.

    On the encouragement of investment between the two countries, the two sides agreed upon establishing a follow-up committee between the investment authorities in the two countries.

    The Yemeni side welcomed Pakistani investors to visit Yemen during the first quarter of 2011 to be familiar with the investment opportunities in Yemen.

    Furthermore, the two sides agreed upon forming a joint technical committee in the area of oil, gas and minerals to set a mechanism to implement what has been agreed upon between the two countries.

    They also identified the date of holding the seventh session in 2012 in Islam Abad.

    Over two days, the The Yemeni-Pakistani Joint Ministerial Committee discussed the economic and trade cooperation and means of increasing the volume of trade exchange between them.

    The committee evaluated the level of implementation in the outputs of the previous sessions.
