Owning a house is not a proof of citizenship in India.
Citizens of Bangladesh belonging to minority faiths (Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs et al) on LTV can own a house here.
So maybe the house is not under his name but his wife/relative who has got LTV and currently resides in India(?)

He also travels to India illegally. It’s not uncommon for many Hindu officials to have properties in India and possibly citizenship as well.

How does he travel "illegally"?
Ya it's fine that Hindus have a property here. Also fine if they stay here.

Could it be that Tushar Kanti Saha's birth country is Bangladesh and his parents belong(ed) to this country?

In that case, is it not his birthright to take a job in this country irrespective of his religion?

We want to publicize ourselves as belonging to a secular country, but in times of difficulties, we just throw away secularity and become Pakka Muslims.

Whether he visits India illegally is another matter unrelated to his job.

I think the question is would Indians be okay with an Indian government official who happens to be a Muslim and also owns properties in Bangladesh?

India has its rules and BD has its. Not that the two countries should be reciprocal in everything.

Do you have any idea on the code of conduct of the Bangladeshi government officials? It’s not permissible to go outside of Bangladesh without government approval let alone buying a property in another country. Also it’s required to disclose wealth statement whenever requested.

Plus this is also prohibited to obtain foreign passport or residency.

Now when he purchased the property in India he had to disclose his citizenship, identity, income tax number etc. Do you think a Bangladeshi without disclosing income source can purchase property in India?

If the above is correct why he should not be punished? When the issue has gone to the parliamentary committee it’s not something based on rumor only.

It is not legal for any any BD official to own property in an another country. Clearly a hindutva plant.

Nothing to do with secularism. This hindutva fag must die.

Stop conflating unrelated things.... india has specific law banning indians from owning property in BD and has instituted CAA targeting muslims. There is absolutely no reason we should tolerate hindutva excess in BD.
