From a very low base, but still encouraging. Need to keep it up for many years to become something significant.

48 million eh? At 10 percent growth they should hope to sell 52 million next year still years before Walton becomes anything significant
" In the event, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that they set a target of exporting US$48 billion worth products in 2021. "

Billion according to article, but seems to be the total export value of Bangladesh in 2021 instead of just Walton (ofc).

Yes very poor article by an incompetent journalist.

The important point is that Walton TV quality is now good enough for developed countries in Europe.

Walton has recently even developed it's own 4K panel and so the company is keeping up with advances in panel tech, if 5 years behind the leaders in Korea and Japan.

Currently Walton does not have the brand power to sell under it's own name.

It is selling to OEMs, who are selling under their own names, but this could change in the future if it can build up it's own brand power.

This relies a lot on BD itself being seen as a modern hi-tech country like what Korea and Taiwan managed last century.

PS - Walton exports mobile phones to USA. Some of the mid-range smartphones sold in USA right now are Walton designed and manufactured phones.

China produces 200 million color TV dramas every year, accounting for 70% of the world's total, and exports 95 million.

Sadly yeah , Walton needs more money from the government for R&D to actually get out there and be a major player.

But maybe they will grow in the future , even though Bangladesh isn't know for funding things properly.
