that be a battle- i am talking about the war-
You are not suggesting that you actually won did you? Not only did your plans for unprovoked attacks fail, but we held more total territory than you and we had more inventory reserves theft.

General Arunkumar Sridhar Vaidya

Padma Vibhushan, PVSM, MVC (Bar), AVSM
COAS, 31 July 1983 - 31 Jan 1986
Armoured Corps, Deccan Horse

General Arunkumar Sridhar Vaidya assumed charge of the Indian Army, as the 13th Chief of Army Staff, on 31 July 1983. Born on 27 January 1926, he was commissioned into the Indian Armoured Corps in 1945 and saw battle during the Second World War. He was the seventh post-independence commander of the 9th Deccan Horse, one of the oldest armoured regiments in the Indian Army. He commanded this regiment in the Battle of Asal Uttar during the 1965 Indo-Pak War and led the 2nd (Independent) Armoured Brigade in the Battle of Shakargarh during the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict.

During the 1965 Indo-Pak War, then Lieutenant Colonel Vaidya was in command of the Deccan Horse. From September 6th to 11th, his unit fought a series of actions in Asal Uttar and Cheema, both in Punjab. He showed inspiring leadership and remarkable resourcefulness in organising his unit and fighting against heavy odds and inflicted severe casualties on the Pakistan Army's Patton tanks. With untiring effort he moved from sector to sector with complete disregard for his personal safety, thereby inspiring his troops by his personal example. He was instrumental to a large extent in stemming thrusts by Pakistani armour in the battle of Asal Uttar and later at Cheema. For his exceptional bravery he was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra (India's second highest medal for gallantry).

If PAF won air war in 65 against IAF, what was PAF doing when Indian army was baking pakistani tanks?
sorry you were not the only one baking tanks, look, there were loses on both sides, we celebrate "Defense Day" and not "Victory Day" as we ourselves dont consider it a victory, but a successful defense of our land, both countries are there where they were before 65, so neither u got anything, nor we, we get happy because we repulsed a much larger Army, so why do u get happy when u blew up some tanks of a more poorer and much smaller army?

so in short repulsing a big enemy was itself a victory for us.

I am bored to see the same Australian picture. We can also post a hundred newspapers to prove otherwise. Grow up. You defended Lahore - congrats.

War historians, including Dr. Philip Towle, regard the Indian resistance near Khem Karan as one of the key turning points of the war, one which tilted the balance of the war in favor of India.Peter Wilson statesthat the defeat of Pakistan Army in the battle of Asal Uttar was one of the greatest defeats suffered by Pakistan forces in the course of Indo-Pakistan war of 1965.

Ref:Wars, Proxy-wars and Terrorism: Post Independent India - Peter Wilson Prabhakar - Google Books

According to military historian Steven Zaloga, Pakistan admitted that it lost 165 tanks during the 1965 war, more than half of which were knocked out during the "debacle" of Asal Uttar

Indian Forces mauled PA with 1:10 tank kills
IAF lost 75 air crafts too with PAF losing just 18. Around 4 times of PAF loses. Your attacks in Lahore and Silakot sector were stalled till the end of the war. Your attacks in Rajhastan sector weren't much a success either. I like the way you pick one chapter of a history and make it the greatest victory in the human history. Exaggerating it to the extremes. Making it something that was totally unachievable in the human history. Yeah go celebrate a "victory". You won battle of Asal Uttar after losing the main town. Hurray. :)

Destroyed Pakistani tanks in 'Patton Nagar'.

Destroyed Pakistani Tanks, Longewala.

Tank tracks at Longewala. Photographic reconnaissance image taken at the time showing the desperate last minute manoeuvres by Pakistani tanks in the sector, trying to dodge and escape aerial rocket attacks from IAFs Hunter aircraft.. Circles show destroyed Pakistani tanks.

Where J&k was concerned, in 1947, Pakistan had sent well-armed raiders into Jammu & Kashmir but denied its hand in the invasion. They reluctantly accepted their involvement only when the presence of regular Pakistan army was detected in J&K by the UN observers who were deployed there after the Cease-Fire agreement in 1948.

A similar attempt to deny involvement was made in 1965 (Op Gibraltar) and repeated in Kargil in 1999; Pakistani top brass seems to have learnt no lessons despite repeated failures of such operations.
Ahh longewala. Another extremely exaggerated event other than Asal uttar.
