Joining the WTO has benefited China greatly.

It's not about the WTO. It's all about how you join the WTO.
For eg: You'd say, "It's not about how fast you drive, it's about how you drive fast."

If joining WTO decides a countries fate, how many WTO members should mean how many Chinas emerged. China's success comes from the hard working population and good governance, that's the main reasons, other things can play a part, but they are all insignificant.

Well yeah, I actually mean it's one of the factors and my original statement can sound misleading. China joining the league to trading nations; it's not the sole factor but a factor nonetheless.

Maybe I should say, a great catalyst.

Simple but surprisingly interesting and entertaining video.
WTO membership did help China to progress.
How much will depend on how individual countries are able to take advantage of the opportunities available.
In fact China joined the WTO saddled with harsh and unfavorable conditions.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_and_the_World_Trade_Organization
When China joined the WTO, it agreed to considerably harsher conditions than other developing countries.

The US underestimated the capabilities and resolve of the Chinese.
    Too Late for regrets.

Those WTO conditions are painful reforms but beneficial for China in the long term. You don't want to be like India where you avoid painful reforms and take so many years to implement GST.

China's participation has benefited global growth greatly. Last year, China accounted for about 30% of growth in world GDP.

Yes, partnership means benefits go both ways, not an one way traffic.

Nice, China is moving forward very fast. Meanwhile india is being left behind, no wonder they shamelessly act as cheerleaders for their american overlords.

It is amazing to see how start almost equal and in some cases started ahead by India on GDP per capita and lower population weight, India still left far behind by China in last 20 years. A huge gap has emerged between the two in 2017.
Even the Economic miracle by India is just a mirage.
    Pathetic India.

Chinese did a lot to get work done.

    Indians resort to brag.

The results do not surprise me.

However, the Indians that work hard are in America. That help out the US.
