until they can get rid of "Chinese threat"
It is not India the US is counting on as counterweight balance against China but other forces which may not materialize and they know India's limits as whole and imcompetence
until they can get rid of "Chinese threat"
US will be majority minority soon enough and their policies will change. India will then try to approach China and sort out border issues.
I think US only added India to Quad due to Japanese insistence as Japan wanted to alleviate Chinese pressure on them deflected to South India.
It worked and now India has ended up with an unnecessary front on its Northern border.
I just don't get why Indians believe the West will be happy with India challenging the West in the future if it's allowed to develope to the level of where China is even today.
Surprisingly I see the Indians get really happy for every crumb they receive.... It is India that needs to decide whether it wants to be an equal partner in the prosperity of the region or continue to be a far flung lackey at the mercy of the whims and vagaries of a distant superpower in the hope of receiving a few crumbs from the table.
That reminds me of a very different country though.to be a far flung lackey at the mercy of the whims and vagaries of a distant superpower in the hope of receiving a few crumbs from the table.
You're not wrong, but things are changing and things have changed. That reminds me of a very different country though.
That depends on your interpretation of "crumbs from the table", If you shed more light on that, then maybe I can answerYou're not wrong, but things are changing and things have changed.
We've made that mistake and hopefully learned our lesson. Why do you think it's a good idea for India to make the same mistake?
Howdy modiUS believe they are enough to take care of China. India is just a slave and an extra. If it can help them destroy China, good! But if can't ,they will destroy it. @Wood
Now India is helping Russia which is another arch enemy of US. Americans will not tolerate it.
I think you think too highly of India in the eyes of white American.
