On the Chinese forums we are all joking that USA is turning into India with all these "we will do this" "we will do that" blah blah blah
That's of course just the beginning.
$10 billion is peanuts.
True, but it proves the Air Force is moving out quickly on 6th gen aircraft, and will likely produce prototypes in a decade.
anymore F-35 type programs and the US political economy will collapse.
Not sure what you mean. The US Congress has already approved $1.4 trillion in defense spending through 2018-2019 with budgets now focused on near peer competitors. This is not "we will do", it's reality.
US defense R&D alone jumps 24% in 2019.
China has awoken a sleeping giant. Wait and watch the American response.
US is developing lot of stuff as we speak.
In-fact, it is typical of us Asians to boast a lot but Americans deliver from time-to-time.
F-35 was an ambitious project, incorporating 3 specialized designs, and for export. US was not bearing its expenses on its own - money poured in from scores of countries.
6th generation fighter project is similar to F-22 Raptor. American-exclusive.
I cannot wait to see who is first with the first 6th gen fighter - China or USA.
US got caught with it's pants down when China flew the J-20 back in 2010.
this is R&D money, China or any county can't do this. Americans have 5 gen fighter almost 30 years. It is old for them and China is better?
New meta logic...
I mean are these people not reading the whole forum, look how much money USA is spending for ther toys and they made something new. Better to avoid these kids....
Nothing matches the US R&D complex.
Both in innovation and spending.
When it works you get the F-15, F-16 and F-22.. even when it doesn’t you get the V-22 and F-35.. still efficient systems.
Unlike other nations which only have access to their own countrymen and their brain pool; the US gets the brain pool from the entire world.. including China.
Jokes are all you guys can do. On US forums, like the kind frequented by US military types, we discuss the technical issues of what could be this '6th gen' platform. So the more jokes you guys make, the more the joke your forums become.
