cpc should ban tiktok from being sold to the US .
Let it rot, better than falling into the arsenal of the thieves.
The CEO should be reminded where bytedance's main market is.

Actually I think the US could really learn something from China on how to ban things.:D A straight out ban on such a popular app really isn't a smart move... the Chinese government, which has a lot of expertise in banning stuff, usually handles things like this in a much subtler way and would never take such a blunt measure.

It's America's first time so I guess it appears clumsy, now the whole world can see America is being put on defensive mode, start banning things it can't compete with, which frankly used to be China's strong forte

Preventing the sale of Tik Tok would ensue Bytedance loses a lot of money ...

Zhang Yiming is physically in China so there is nothing stopping the government from "persuading" him not to embarrass China the hand that fed him.

Prevent the sale, and just flip on a US company in retaliation. Start by nationalizing Microsoft assets.
Beijing doesn't want to do that because many American companies create value when they are in China. They are not easily replaceable. If any company can be targeted and replaced, I think the automotive sector is one of them.

That I agree with you. They can kill the American automobile market.

Hopefully China won't have to go as far as cutting off all supplies of PPE to the United States.

If Zhang Yiming had half a brain he would realize that he is the nemesis of Mark Zuckerberg. The two are mirror images of each other and they are destined to battle for dominance of global social media. It would be a total surrender and personal humiliation for Zhang to sell his business because Americans would never allow Zhang to prevail over Zuckerberg.

Trump is not going to last past January 4 2021 in office so it doesn't really matter. China can wait Trump out.

Tesla cars are connected to the internet. China can ban Tesla from selling cars in China on the justification of national security concern.
