Google and facebook clearly told Chinese government they refuse to abide by Chinese laws. Tik Tok always says it will abide by local laws.

It is not nice that international trade has become a tool of political fight. Everyone will suffer from this. The evolution of this fight into the armed phase is only a matter of time.

TikTok vulnerabilities have left everyone behind in their field. Never install it on your phone, and prevent your children to use Tiktok.

It carries dozens information theft and security risks that you cannot even imagine. With the user agreement and authorizations, you allow data collection even when the application is not running. I'm not saying here that Facebook or google etc is a good sh*t. Big Data means everything in today's world. China related applications have a very aggressive attitude in this regard.

At least we can sue them in courts. And are accountable. Chinese are bananas when it comes to the rule of law.

If you have technical knowledge, we can talk and share ideas about the ideal web use and secure social media literacy, in seperate title. Its another debate.

If we are just comparing Tiktok with any app, now Tiktok has raised the bar to a point where no one can get out. I do not praise the US applications with many data security problems here; I point out how far China goes in this area.

What happed to US/China love affair?
Seems the pair relationship is damaged beyond repair.
It’s better the women (China) to file a final divorce because the man (US) seeks a newer younger girl.

How many American tech companies got sued after Edward Snowden exposed PRISM? You know the one where all major US tech companies provided backdoor access to NSA?

    Exactly zero, 0, nil, nada

As far as rule of law, ask Jeffrey Epstein on how that worked out. Oh wait he's dead and the camera footage is conveniently missing.

    Not really.

Facebook to be fined $5bn for Cambridge Analytica privacy violations
Google, Facebook, and Twitter Face International Fines

The rule of law is not simply one Jeffrey Epstein case. Tell me how many countries put warning that Chinese laws are arbitrarily enforced. Your judiciary is essentially a joke that works on the whims of the party or for the ones with influence. Comparing it to the justice system in the US is cringe, to say the least.

The TikTok app cannot be forced to be sold to the US , it can only be sold with consent from the Chinese government.
