a few thousand US troops cant touch Pakistan. but they can control/dictate what Afghanistan can do and stop central asian countries economies from progressing and better integrating. this is the real reason why they are still there.
To keep and eye, yes, they can.
Approachable location and technology, especially all kinds of autonomous and other kinds of UAV's.

Whether the Afghan war comes to an end or not, US/NATO/India mission is to denuclearise Pakistan. They have sleepless nights about our nuclear capability and they don't hide it under a rug. US and NATO embassies in Islamabad aren't there to promote trade and relations. They are there for one very specific purpose and that is no secret.

Whether we like it or not, our relations with the Western world simply won't work. It is naive to believe that things can be worked out. They cannot. The disagreements are too big and too complicated.

Mission Creep and an Emotional plea by US CJCS

Mily is in wrong profession he should be at Hollywood to keep Pakistan safe or Afghanistan there is need of cooperation between both US and Pakistan at military and economic level plus 20yrs no body interested in war any more in US its a forgotten war So I believe Biden and Austin will make Pakistan as stretegic partner to deal any future problems in Afghanistan

Breaking news is Ashraf Ghani has now finally hinted for new elections in other words some sort of power sharing with talibans. This requirement was the main hurdle in deadlock inbetween Talibans , Afghan govt and US for the last one year or so.
Talibans put Ghani Govt removel as condition for ceasefire if this happens and interim setup moves in we might see some progress in intra Afghan dialogue US seeking concessions from Talibans to keep troops after May let's see how it pans out

Time has changed alot since rise of China and close military partnerships with Pakistan chances to get bully by US are less now also US economy tanked due to COVID even Biden administration see Afghanistan as burden now that's why Austin gave shut up call to Mily

The idea is not to invade Pakistan but to have a say in the affairs of the region. As long as NATO exist in Afghanistan in any shape or form, they will have the capability to keep tabs on Pakistan as well as influence course of events in Afghanistan.
Basically a cat and mouse game between CIA and ISI is about to begin, again :hitwall:
can you please explain me how troops will keep tabs on Pakistan
Troops don't, their Spy planes+equipments, CIA networks, and satellites do.

We should become like Indians, invade Afghanistan, make US troops sign an instrument of surrender while outnumbered 10:1, and then parade it in their face for the next century.

I am actually surprised people here don't know this. But USA special forces have done exercises on how to secure Pakistani nukes and how take them away. So all those who keep saying that India is the only threat we face are either naïve or they agree with USA policies. I really would like people here to read books like Directorate S and Obama's Wars and Confront and Conceal and other books by USA top journalists and politicians and others.

Absolutely no secret whatsoever. The entire Western world along with India and Israel have the same objective. It is an openly declared objective. US is taking the lead. The US embassy in Islamabad is the HQ and epicentre of malicious activity against Pakistan.

its funny how people can read it after 20 years, while this was their main objective all along. American consulate in Islamabad is one of the biggest threat to our country

Waste of cash when usa is doing a far better job of humiliating itself on International stage.

No the best thing is to prepare for a time when USA is no longer in afganistan.

Well its not that difficult
Bankrupt pakistan multiple times and once rupee hits 300 or becone like paper, people have nothing to eat they will give up nukes

We almost did that in 2018

Hopefully maryum nawqz should be ablw to do it but a more direct hasina style method

We can see what happened in Afghanistan. Same kinds of people, similar divisions between shades of hades, in Pakistan. So without outside support a similar event would likely occur. East Asians/Chinese, NATO, rich folks in Europe, rich Arabs and Americans don't want that. So they prop up the gov't and military.
:what:
:blink::blink::blink:

Trust me..people think pakistanis will want to keep nukes when they have nothing to eat and no fuel to drive..no they wont..some might not even want kashmir or keeping the country ..

And its pretty easy just bankrupt thr country via note printing and useless subsidies to general public rather then targeted to poor just like happen in other countries

Establishment reacted twice in 1998 & 2018 when country was bankrupt and made under the table soul selling to arabs to get the money to avoid it

But there might not be third time..

Lets see how good maryum-bilawal combo is in 2023

I doubt alone they can make a govt but there colaition is coming

Taliban seems very inflexible till the very end

If usa rejects the deal they will need surge..but comiting more troops to afghanistan is neither popular in democarts nor republicans

Realistically 2500 troops wouldnt be able to do much against the taliban let alone pakistan. The troops are their providing advisory and training to local forces. Also special operations/intelligence is also very crucial. In all honesty I dont get what the hype is with the US keeping a small contingent of troops. It would infact serve Pakistans interest. The govt and military have both stated they dont want the US to completely leave the region esp with a resurgent isis.

lastly this isnt the afghanistan of 1999. The taliban wont role into kabul in tanks. The war has already been won by them. Biden has no choice but a political settlement where the taliban play a major role in the afghan govt. A national govt which is supported by the taliban is already being discussed in Washington
