No one can stay in power if they want to abolish or weaken Bangladesh armed forces.

We are observing it from the very beginning.

Weakening military mean weakening our sovereihgnty.

Who want to do this , they must be perished.
With bitchman like aziz you don’t need to try weakening it

The writer loses credibility with "without any obvious external enemy".

Although I completely agree that Military should not be involved in construction and development projects. Corrupts the military.
Bangladesh does not need to maintain a large army or land force because the land force of Bangladesh is practically of no use.

I believe Bangladesh needs an effective border force, air force and navy that's it.

A strong border force is to stop drug smuggling, influx of Rohingya and refugees from India and protect civilians from getting killed at the border.

A strong navy is to protect Saint Martin, naval borders of Bangladesh and the sea ports of Bangladesh.

A strong air force is required for swift attack. A modern armed forces must have superior air force.

Bangladesh army is mostly used for administrative work which is not the core function of an army.

Perfect example of fifth columnist shushil.

And what happens when a foreign invaders invades?
They believe that their patron bharat mata will protect Bangladesh as it's child.

He claims that he is Bangladeshi , well if he is Bangladeshi ,then he is one of those fifth columnists who claim that Bangladesh doesn't need army.

If you show the example of crimea ,the will instantly say that India is a friend, so India won't attack us.

Such kind actually want to cut Bangladesh in piece and serve the pieces to India in a plate.

Guess we will unleash the indomitable lungi brigade
You see brother what our armchair generals analysis of war? They believe war is a game. Even patriot fools believe that they will wear lungi and fight enemy , but in reality lungi khule dour dey gulir sound hobar agei.

Foreign invader? We are not living in the 7th century mate.

If you are literate enough then read about 5th generation warfare. Gone are the days when physical fighting was used to dominate another nation. Today you play proxy in foreign lands, install a government in another country who will serve you, use media as a propaganda tool, destroy the economy, education and healthcare of another country etc etc this is how war is waged now.

India already invaded Bangladesh. There are hell lot of things in Bangladesh which happens under Delhi's influence. Also the interesting thing is that no military power has been used. This is fifth generation warfare.

Lmao. I read your post already. It's sort of new types of trick from shushil.

Bangladesh isn't rich country that they can follow UK methods.

For Bangladesh land force aka army is the most important.

If you can't hold your ground, you can't fight with air force.

In order to hold ground sufficient numbers of army is necessary.

As far I heard , you can deploy 250000 army in whole Bangladesh at a time if it necessary.

I have never said that ground forces ain't necessary. It's just cut spending and use the money behind air force and navy and border force.

Also no country will invade Bangladesh. This is not Roman empire era. Burma and India will create problems in the border for which a strong border force is needed.

Also navy is needed because Burma is creating problems in Saint Martin and is trying to exploit Bangladeshi naval area.

Unfortunately Bangladesh armed forces don't agree with you. You can try to convince them.
Myanmar is not a threat for Bangladesh at all.

India will also not invade Bangladesh militarily. What India might do is implant their agents, control the national policy of Bangladesh, take control of media etc.

It's like China. China indirectly owns Myanmar and North Korea. Their entire government policy and central authority is Chinese proxy. China did not use force or military to invade these countries.

Army is important but if Bangladesh wants to survive it must have a proper Intelligence agency, proper foreign policymakers, proper media etc etc if it wants to survive a fifth generation warfare.

Also there is a concept called client state or satellite state. These two terms are used for modern day countries who serve the interest of a powerful nation.

A client state is same as an invaded nation but the thing is an invaded nation has been militarily subjugated while a client state is a state which serves as a puppet for a powerful nation which is their overlord.

Creating client states is a form of modern day invasion without use of military. China did that to Myanmar and North Korea.

India at best will turn Bangladesh or I believe already turned Bangladesh into its client state like they did to Bhutan.

No need to use military bro.
