Does stealth is more important for SEALTH JET or anything else like thrust or agility, let wait and see what will TVC tech uses by J-20 for WS-15 engine, if STEALHNESS is more important for PLAAF than it will go to 2D TVC, if not than PLAAF will go for 3D TVC
They need to have a balance. In fact, canard do increase RCS by Chinese aeronautic study. But Chinese design also conduct study that with careful all area of treatment and precise flight control. The RCS increase of canard can be managed to the minimal.

Why would Chinese go for canard layout for J-20 even canard do contribute a certain portion of RCS? It offer the agility that the Chinese military top brass require. High AOA is not only for top fight but evade air to air missile by bleeding them with evasive tactic if you detect early.

The 3D thrust vector may offer more option for J-20 compare to the benefit of a 2D nozzle.
No, Russia is using 2D vector, instead of 3D vector.
Russian is 3D vector but it's not nozzle petal control of the Chinese WS-10 TVC but instead more of angle nozzle control to achieve the change of thrust.

The IR signature is very important in long range BVR combat between stealth fighters. In the future a long range AIM-260 or PL-21 shot may be guided by the launch aircraft’s EOTS or IRST via a datalink and then the missiles own radar switches on in the No-Escape Zone. The F-35 didn’t optimize for IR signature reduction as much as the F-22 and maybe a weakness a Chinese 2D TVC equipped J-20 could exploit, for example in a Taiwan scenario.

The TVC nozzles will also reduce the need for canards and improve stealth that way, so the weight increase from the nozzles could be compensated for the weight reduction earned by removing the canards and thrust improvements in the engine.

let wait and see bro and J-20 is already quite unstealthy from rear, especially those venral fins can give extra RCS to radars

Russia's axisymmetric nozzles are 2D TVC nozzles.
Axisymmetric nozzles are not equal to 3D TVC nozzles.

I don’t recall the full details, it was perhaps more than ten years ago I read this, but the weight had something to do with keeping the stealth intact. Perhaps lighter materials have been developed since.
RAM rubber is heavy.

So far there is no known material around better than ferrite powder mixed with some polymer foam, or rubber.

Indeed.

The F-35 feature incredibly sophisticated EO/IR and sensor fusion capabilities for BVR combat in the IR spectrum.

J-20 updates in following links

The F-35 have significant IR signature reduction measures to it. Link for reference: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/amer...ogies-general-discussion.684565/post-13074317

why would a Chinese pilot be allowed to make such a vague assumption about a top military project?
Well, there might be actual plans to install this technology at some point in the future. That is all. Thes rest of the story is all hogwash IMO, but it does sound very nice. :D

J-20 wouldn't want to end up like F-22 white elephant which already cease production and even need to stay in air con hangar...
Brother do you want j-20 will become as much as stealthy, isn't j-20 is heavy stealth fighter like f-22 the concept of both jets are same, ànd why f-22 cease it's production its another story

F-22 was too expensive, and other countries couldn't even come up with competitors for it at the time.

USAF 4.5 gen fleet could destroy most countries militaries.
