That's one side of coin, the other side is a complete generation of people have grown under smell of gunpowder and blood, almost all Afghans barring few thousand have lost their childhood due to crazy crusade being waged by West.
The swing video is very sad,a grownup man who faced world most powerful military machine can be heard saying "I fear i would fall".
But instead of surrendering to authorities and living a normal peaceful life in a modern society promoting education and women rights they decided it was worth fighting for the talibs. Don't judge me if I don't pity then.

Which authority?
Afgh Govt?
That wasn't and isn't more than CIA trash bag filled with warlords, commies and pedos. The main bone of contention between Kabul regime and Talibs is that,Talibs and almost all Afghans consider them as foreign imposed regime. In last election 2.2 million out of 9 million voters in Afg voted, which is just 25%.
During 2014 election,US had to intervene at the end for forming Ghani Govt.
An outsider would never be able to understand complexity of Afghan conflict.

Ok let's say the accusations are true, how are the talibs any better? You can oppose the government and not be a medieval era radical opposing modernity and women rights.

Things change with time,so would have Talibs.US just interrupted the flow.
Sad thing is,Talibs didn't gaveup when facing US,what makes you think they would giveup now?

It is a context you don't understand since you after all have been under subjugation for 1000 years this people are unconquerable spirits they only envision themselves as superior unapologetically but not the other way around hence they can't never accept anything besides their own choice.. I am sure they don't care about the pity of a lesser human who used to subjugation... Differeent speicies a leopard doesn't care for gazelle and vice-versa

So list your positives from a scenario with the AT ruling the whole place from Kabul.

These uneducated warlords can run a village or two, not a nation state. The "western puppet" regime at least have a vision. Taliban's vision is basically... ISIS. What good will come from that ?
Lol, dunno what planet you're living on, but ISIS got their @$$es handed to them by Mujahideen. Once the Mujahideen have reached an agreement with ana, who do you think they will turn their guns towards next? ISIS is on their crosshairs.

ISIS got their rear ends served on a platter to them thanks to Trump and Putin, and a lot of other factors, including the Iranians and Asad regime.

This Afghan unraveling, though... so you're saying once the AT are done with the Kabulis, they'll train their guns on other jihadist groups ?

What comes next, ethnic and warlord infighting ? Sounds like a good time, one is reminded of Asterix the Gaul and those bar fights... Only that none of it is either funny or good.

Jokes aside, I'm still failing to see any positives for Pak here.

The world can only hope they will not let their cavemen instincts get the better of them, apart from that... its looking pretty bleak for everyone concerned. It'll be worse for Pakistan than for India.

Pretty weird to see a lot of this forum so elated and viewing this as some sort of grand victory for religion against the infidels.

But sure, have at it.

Yeah free and unconquerable as in being blown to smithereens by predator strikes?
Sitting down with americans and discussing peace and hoping for their withdrawl from your own country? Thank you very much I'll pass.
