If China do not war on Taiwan, China can kiss the SCS goodbye -- PERMANENTLY. No amount of ancient maps China can print or artificial islands can help the claim. Global powers will increase their military presence in the SCS to secure its freedom from Chinese control.

On the other hand, China's conquest of Taiwan have the potential -- not guarantee -- of deterrence that China will resort to military solutions to secure control of the SCS, thereby compelling global powers to acquiesce to China's demands. That potential rests on the degree of destruction China can deliver on the Taiwan.
America can't even beat covid let alone China. Mind you, China has bio weapons that make covid look like child's play, look like a walk in the park. Lest America willing to lose millions, America won't fight China in Taiwan strait.

Look by that logic all the chinese have to do is launch a few nukes at taiwan and its bye bye taiwan
When I was active duty, I pulled 'Victor Alert' duty. That is where a few jets were fully loaded with nukes readied for war. The first time I actually touched a B61 free fall bomb, it affected me profoundly. The jet carried two of them, and in my hand, I carried the navigation cartridge with coordinates known only when the jet is powered up and taxied out.

Keyboard warriors like you disgusts me. You are all cowards at hearts and because there is cowardice in your hearts, your minds make up for that by casually talking about 'nuking' this and that country.

China won't touch Taiwan until 2050s when America has weakened to the point of Mexico or Brazil and can't protect Taiwan from China anymore.

Yes.

Uncle Sam will fight China to the last Indian. That falls under the defense of taiwan as well. So its safe to rephrase and say : Uncle Sam will defend Taiwan to the last Indian.
we have put all our resources reserved for you .

Will the world economy risk nuclear war with PRC for taiwan ? will the taiwan risk a nuclear holocaust ? NO!

as soon as taiwan realise that the west will not back her, she will not even fight back. Without a bullet being fired she will join the PRC. all this talk is just for.. domestic consumption.
then china will be nuked by america and india .

Thats why USA is now itching for war. They know that if a war with russia/china does not takes place in this decade. then the west will decay to the point where they will be in no condition to fight and stop these countries.

This decade is the last and only window of opportunity left for the west to stop the rise of China and assert its dominance over russia

Don't worry. Aircraft maintenance workers like yourself can't trigger a world war inadvertently.

If USA isn't willing to start a strategic nuclear exchange with China over Taiwan, you think USA will start a strategic nuclear exchange with China over uninhabited islets in the South China Sea? Xi Jinping just called your bluff

China is world's oldest continuous civilization thousands of years old. China is no Russia. China is multitudes more powerful than Russia which is culturally weak. That's why Russia is no match for America and America is no match for China.

No, we got better. And the analogy is that China is the US while Taiwan is Iraq. Except this time, Taiwan is qualitatively better than Iraq while China is not comparable to US. That make China and Taiwan more problematic than US-Iraq. Am willing to guess you do not read much? :D
it's comparable. Some rough numbers from Wikipedia:

1990 US vs. Iraq aircraft: 2780 (USAF+USN) vs 1114 (2.5x greater)
2021 PRC vs. ROC aircraft: 1373 (PLAAF) + 302 (naval aviation) vs 288 (5x greater)

1990 US vs. Iraq AWACs: 11 vs. 0 (+11)
2021 PRC vs. ROC AWACs: 45 vs. 5 (+40)

1990 US long ranged precision munitions launched: 288 Tomahawks, 35 AGM-86
2021 PRC long ranged precision munition available: Taiwanese claimed 2000+ SRBMs, 1000+ cruise missiles

One major difference is that the PLAN's destroyers and subs can be brought to bear against Taiwanese targets, while the USN mostly contributed naval aviation against Iraq. Here's an analysis of what a single 052D could do to the entire Taiwanese navy.

...forget those harsh rhetorics made by the both sides, they are only for domestic consumption.
I work with engineers from both sides of the strait. Over drinks, the Chinese guys admitted at the 'regular people' level, no one cares if Taiwan declares independence. However, once they return to China, then they sort of have to care because the government sort of forces them to care, at least at the superficial level. The Chinese guys realized from when they were young that the Taiwanese are a different people. One guy said that Chinese and Taiwanese are more different to each other than whites and black Americans are to each other. That was a shocker to me. The Chinese guys understand that Taiwan remaining de facto independent from China is more important to Taiwanese and unification is important to Chinese. The Chinese guys admitted that China will gain nothing with a forced Taiwan unification. So it sounds like this 'domestic consumption' is artificial on the China side.
