Funny thing would be to see Pakistanis ordering Chai Tea Latte. I had tried to explain my local barista that Chai and Tea are effectively the same thing. :hitwall:

I’ll join your club bro, me neither. I like the soft drinks.
Brother, that's probably because starbucks and costa coffee usually sucks! Try some small-ish local or artisan cafes, they're generally much better.

Or if you're in London and you want to try better cafe chains. My personal favourites are Taylor St Baristas, Paul's, Ole & Steen, and Black Sheep Coffee.

Worse yet, the frappuccino style dessert drink varieties (aka high blood sugar in a cup) that Starbucks like to flog to trendy young people. :D

Indian media presents such a different picture of Pak. I know PDF is mostly a troll fest but it's nice to see that Pak is not the picture our media presents.

When we're not discussing how effectively Shaheen-III can blow up Delhi + suburbs, we're on some normal discussions like coffee and social stuff etc. :enjoy:

I personally found Paul's to be better than Starbucks to be honest, Paul is on it's way to enter Pakistan, Mothercare group is behind it and they were hiring people for it few months back. From what i have heard Starbucks have refused multiple times to come to Pakistan so not sure what's changed this time.

Starbucks or Costa Might Be Coming to Pakistan

Posted 40 mins ago by Haroon Hayder

Javed Afridi, the 35-year-old entrepreneur, has hinted at the arrival of an international coffeehouse to Pakistan.

Taking to Twitter, the Peshawar Zalmi owner asked his followers whether they want Starbucks or Costa in Pakistan.

Founded in 1971, Costa is an England-based coffeehouse company. Coca-Cola acquired Costa in 2019 and the company has over 18,000 employees in 3,401 stores across 31 countries.
Starbucks is an American coffeehouse company that was founded in 1971. The company has over 349,000 employees in 31,256 stores across 79 countries.
Note that Costa had opened a coffeehouse in Karachi several years ago that shut down after some time.

On the other hand, Starbucks, a few years back, clarified that the company had no plans in opening coffeehouses in Pakistan.
However, both companies might reconsider their decisions considering the current wave of coffee culture in Pakistan that has seen coffeehouses sprouting up everywhere.

Agree, PAUL's utterly superior, but perhaps a little too high end and expensive, apart from maybe a handful of stores nationwide.

If left to these ‘copy the west ‘show offs,we certainly will eventually loose our culture.Let American come and invest in science and technology, metallurgy electronics or machine manufacturing industries. Let them enjoy our Lussi,Sattoo,Ganay ka rus, shakanjabeen, Faloodah , Rooh Afza and our Shakker ka sherbet etc etc.

Thanks we dont need more multinationals selling overpriced crap and taking profits from our already disbalanced poor economy. Someone should tell this idiot who earned money from smuggling in the first place to invest in export oriented business instead of bring in leeches and sucking money out of Pakistan.

Cost already came to Pakistan and wrapped up it's business, it didn't worked here, my friend was the Manager of their first franchise in Karachi. Starbucks i find over rated i am more of a Tim Horton's person (French Vanilla FTW)
I live in America. DON'T ALLOW STARBUCKS INTO PAKISTAN. their coffee tastes like shit and they'll kick out all the other coffee places because Islamabadi burgers will want to drink Starbucks instead of local places or Gloria Jeans because its more "American".

Wow, look at that Hindi word for tea is Chai. interesting. We are made to think Chai is a beverage of tea with milk and spices. That would be the Masala part of Chai. Thanks for the knowledge.
