How can a judge stop hearing a case on the basis of a law that is being discussed in parliament.

You follow the rules that are currently in place, not those which 'would' be in place in the future.

Even Aitzaz Ahsan said so.

Where does in existing laws CJP has the power to constitute a special bench??
He has not citing the bill pending in Parliament, he cited SC Rules 1980.

Here is issue, non world financial institution willing to talk to this govt. Better hold election. Plus China is not happy when Pak supporting Ukriaine openly. Chinese 2 billion loan is already mature and they promise rollover but not yet done.
Pakistan is extreme victim of dynastic politics. Where if Nawaz or Zardari comes in power then no power can remove them. This is due to centuries of slavery in our mindset. Plus, the power broker is army. If army wants they can play positive role and open the door for poor people who can join the national politics.
Judiciary is now already destroyed by Sharif family , now people realize Zardari is much less evil then Nawaz. How him and his daughter manipulating judiciary and bring Qazi Isa in picture for Nawaz relief.

This judgement is remarkable enough in its own right, insofar as it challenges the unfettered personal authority exercised by the Chief Justice but it clearly has political undertones ...

We already have a 5-member bench 2021 SC judgement that makes it clear that "the chief justice of Pakistan is the sole authority by and through whom the said jurisdiction (suo motu) can be, and is to be, invoked/assumed" ...

A 3-member bench judgement (let alone a bill passed in parliament) cannot overturn a larger bench ruling and even Qazi Faiz Isa knows very well that his judgement regarding suspension of all ongoing suo motu cases has no legal value and it is non binding on CJ or larger SC bench(es). This whole exercise is meant to make SC controversial so that the PDM/Company can refuse to implement any SC orders that call for on-time elections

IK has already lost because of his peaceful mantra. Now supreme court too will be openly against him, under Faiz esa.

Tactics can always change.

Exactly, his whole professional career has been that. The only reason he's trying to talk is after all these wasteful years of public service; they've put a gender-neutral boy ahead of him. He's never had a portfolio worth mentioning, and here they gave an aspirant son a Foreign Ministry position right off the back. If that's not a slap across the face, I don't know what is. You can describe Ahsan as a prodigal son who has done wrong all his life and now tries and comes back to atone, yet he's left to salute an ajeeb makhlooq for the rest of his useless life.
