Then no problem, as long as no foreign power involved, we'll be fine, S. Korea is not an enemy to China, China is their biggest trading partner by a huge margin, generally speaking the two countries enjoy nice relationship.

If they insist the were UN troops, we would say we were volunteers.

Problem solved? No,there would have been suffering for even more Koreans. The communists would have taken over all of the South and millions of people would have suffered what the North Koreans have been suffering under the Kim dynasty.
