Sindh uplift package to be finalised soon: Asad Umar

By
Staff Report

HYDERABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has said the government is committed to finalising the development package for Sindh at the earliest.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, the minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will personally visit Sindh to announce the package, which will meet the development needs of different areas of the province. He maintained that the government’s focus is to serve the masses.
“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as popular party of the country after recent elections held in Sindh and Punjab, as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) won their own seats with lower margins as compared to 2018 general elections, while PTI secured more votes despite losing these seats in the last general elections,” he stated.
Replying to a question, he said that PTI and its allies Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) are democratic parties; therefore, their members and leaders always raised questions related to party and political affairs. He said Liaquat Ali Jatoi had been summoned by party leadership to clarify his statement.

Asad Umar said in order to streamline performance of government institutions like NADRA, WAPDA, National Highway Authority, power distribution companies and other federal organisations, meetings with stakeholders are being held to deliberate on different proposals to pave way for betterment of these institutions.

The condescending tone adopted by this person when Sind is mentioned speaks volume of governments interest anywhere south of Multan.

This package will end up in the pockets of Sindhi daicot fuedals. Sindh has no future until its improvrished people take matters into their own hands. Sindhis have a reputation of supporting fuedal thugs as their rulers.

Sindh uplift package? Is it a joke?? When are these duffers in PTI government understand that Sindh is being held hostage by Zardari and his Bisexual Son Bilalwal. Sindh should be under Governor's Rule as we speak.

It will go straight to the pockets of Zardari & co. Sindh needs martial law or Governer rule by a non PPP entity for at least 10 years to reverse the damage done to it.

so ppl need to rise like its 15th century and state has zero responsibilities?

and when people rise what are the chances they wont be labeled Anti Pakistan because it will start from protest against ppp eventually enemies will exploit the people and use this opportunity and some separatist elements will also rise then what? why cant state do justice and protect people for "fuedal thugs" and hang those protecting these bastards?

Because it will be stated as state oppression against a political party i.e PPP and their supporters

You know attack on democracy blah blah blah, selected, selector, selected 🤪🤪 blah blah blah
Vote ko izzat do, attack on sindh

Maybe the country could overcome this if it were not for locals continually voting for PPP

If the people of Sindh do not act with their own voices and votes what can anyone else do, especially after amendment 18

agreed. look at the shitty job FWO did on the so called Khi-Hyd "Motorway". it is nothing more than a slightly improved road, otherwise there are already grooves on it, the road is sinking from places, and there is absolutely no access control on the "motorway", every bike, riksha, chingchi is free to move on it, there is no law enforcement, with hundreds of trucks and busses moving in the fast lane and forcing faster cars to move slowly.

Uplift package which will be going straight into the hands of feudal lords, who'll make sure their sons and daughters party in Western universities, whilst the sons and daughters of Sind don't even have schools with proper chairs.
