US aid should be audited but what about those who signed Kerry Logar Bill and its humiliating conditions?
I think you won't like it if a real audit is carried out.

Never going to work for multiple reasons.

    1. If you look at history the presence of US in Pakistan has only led to terrorism. Read about Raymond Davis, this country has thousands of them. It got so back the ISI even exposed the name of the CIA Station chief in Pakistan to disrupt CIA activities.

    2. Look at the historic Pakistan-US relationship. Post the fall of the Soviet Union it has always been about control of Pakistan. The USA does not want a strong independent Muslim state anywhere in the world. Pakistan has ideas above its station. We lay claim on Kashmir, we look to Afghanistan as strategic depth, we talked with Iran and Afghanistan in the 50s about federation, during the Zia era we stood with Shah Faisal and Gaddafi and talked about Pan Islamic power, we pushed global jihad, the ISI reached Bosnia and Chechnya. Worst of all were nuclear armed. The USA is not comfortable with a Muslim nation with our track record. They are only comfortable with subservient nations who adopt thier ideology completely.

    3. You mention Turkish-US relations. They were strong because of US interests. Turkey gave them access to encircle the USSR militarily. At the same time the Turkish nation out right rejected thier religious past and adopted western ideals. There was no ideological clash. The moment Turkey started asserting independence, it has soured.

    4. US foreign policy is about containment of other world powers to ensure US domination on World resources. When we served that interest vis-a-vis the USSR we were friends. Today they are competing with China. All strong regional US allies are prickly with China. India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam etc. We can only have long term favourable relations with the US if we are willing to be anti China.

    5. China for its own interests has stood with us in good times and bad. We'd be fools to move away from them and into a snake pit.

Like war&peace said, I post out of the box things too often, and should do more sane posts to balance it out. I'm not gonna take any comments personally, because the purpose of this thread was to open with a shocking question. War&peace also said no one in our government or military would be dumb enough to propose this, we cant say the US couldn't try to force/pressurize Pakistan to give it bases, in the event of another event, like after 9/11, if it pulls out of Afghanistan. (God Forbid) Planning now, for an alternative that fits Pakistan's interests (such as explaining why US arms sales to Pakistan) is in both the US, Pakistan, and the region's interests. An explaining reasons why US troops in Pakistan will not help.

Thank you for laying out the reasons, especially the point about Turkey asserting their independence, and US policy focused around containment. In light of these points, does Pakistan have a chance that the US will support it with enough arms and training to handle the role its own way? or will the US leave the region as it did after the Afghan war of the 80s? (and let Pakistan deal with the aftermath)

The US never does anything in solely on the interest of Pakistan, and any 'aid/arms' Pakistan does get, has a HUGE hidden costs, I.e. war on terror cost Pakistan $250+ Billion USD to the economy, destabilized our country, killed so many of our people, for what a few F16s?

Now that the Arabs have also abandoned us, Its time for this nation to wake up, We have to fight this war on our own.

Do not let the Americans in. NEVER.

This will be perfect excuse for them to create mischief. They will not work for us. They will work for their interests. Their interests lie in instability as it provides them opportunity to interfere.

Also, this terror thing. Who is the biggest sponsor and beneficiary of this terror? Its USA and Israel. They use these brain washed mercenaries to invade or interfere in countries. Look at Syria. How hordes of unwashed terrorists were let loose on a country to promote Israeli geopolitical interests. How ISIS was clearly supported by Americans in Syria while they were smuggling Syrian oil across into Turkey. Just one example of this 'war on terror' irony.

For the past 18 years we are fighting a war on terror on our own and actually defeated terrorists which Uncle Sam failed to defeat. We know more than counter terrorist operations than Americans when it comes to this region.
