Samsung Health On Samsung Smart TVs

Reports from South Korea revealed earlier this week that Samsung may be shutting down its sole TV manufacturing factory in Tianjin, China, before the end of the year.

Samsung later confirmed the news to be true, but this doesn’t mean production will slow down. Instead, production will shift to Samsung’s other facilities located in Vietnam, Mexico, Hungary, Egypt, and elsewhere, according to a report from Nikkei Asian Review.

Samsung will shut down its TV manufacturing plant in Tianjin by the end of November. The facility operates since 1993 and right now it has around 300 employees. Samsung will try to minimize the negative impact of the factory’s closure by reassigning its employees to other facilities or by helping them find new jobs.

The company wants to shut down the Tianjin TV factory for a few reasons, but they’re all connected to Samsung’s long-term plans to improve global production efficiency. Labor costs in China have increased and domestic rivals have become more competitive, leading to Samsung losing TV market share in China.

Samsung had similar motivations when it shut down its smartphone manufacturing plant in Tianjin two years ago as well as the Suzhou PC plant earlier this year. The company wants to diminish its dependency on Chinese supply chains and it seemingly wants to focus on improving its share in other markets.

Pegatron chips ( used for Iphone) r much better than Samsung chips and they r moving their R&D center from CN to VN now.

----
Pegatron to invest additional $1 billion in Vietnam
The complex of Pegatron would combine four components, including the $19 million Pegatron VN1 project, which was licensed in March. The investor is completing the procedures for the $148 million Pegatron VN2. The third period – the $500 million Pegatron VN3 – is expected to be implemented in 2026-2027.

In addition, Pegatron plans to relocate its research and development (R&D) centre from China to Vietnam.

Chip factories require sophisticated R&D talent, high education levels and investment in research.

You said yourself that Vietnamese don't like science and studying, and prefer to work with their hands on concrete things. That's what you're getting. Leave the science mumbo jumbo for us humble Chinese.

Basically to appease Trump. After November 2020, all these decisions that are make out of pressure, fear, threats may be reverse e.g. Apple fears a ban by China in retaliation for Trump personal vendetta against Huawei which has never fail to humiliate him.
Imagine pitching the entire USA against a private company Huawei.

Pegatron is mostly an assembler, they don't have a chip fab.

I wonder why you lay too much trusts in my statement here on forum. Sure, we need hightech, we need more pricy export items.
it’s a bit boring if we just make bra and women underwear.
