Russia offers PAK-FA to Greece if they agree to buy Su-35's

Translated text (with some errors):-

"Russia will include Greece, the countries that will become the future of the Russian 5th generation fighter T-50, if Greece advanced to the supply of Su-35 and enters the logistic chain of Sukhoi to enable then to support such a combative performance such as T-50, "said spokesman manufacturing company from MoscowFor now, however, is not included in the planning of the Russian company that calculates its deliveries to more than 600 points - other than Russia and India are expected to obtain a 400-650 fighter and the two of them - depending on international developments in relation to intensity of new outbreaks in different regions of the world.

If Greece advanced to the order of the Su-35, the next purchase of new fighter aircraft, they will be the first group of countries to acquire T-50 "says the official said.

""With a favorable economic scenario, the Russian Air Force will acquire 400-450 fighter type, according to statements by the Director of the Russian Centre for the analysis of global arms trade, Igor Korotchenko.

According to him, "A real competitor to T-50 in the near future and then only in economic terms as a performance level of the T-50 is much higher, there will be only the construction of the F-35 Lightning II, and less in construction the F-22, because the latter is very expensive to produce - about 250 million U.S. dollars per aircraft with export performance, "said Igor Korotchenko.

Who are the direct potential customers during the Sukhoi: Algeria with a possible purchase units in the 1924-1936 period of 2025-2030, Argentina on 12-24 units in the years 2035 to 2040, Brazil in 1924 to 1936 points in the years 2030-2035, Venezuela by 24-36 points over the period 2027-2032, Vietnam with 12 to 24 units during the years 2030 to 2035, Egypt in 1912 to 1924 units during the years 2040-2045.

Also on the list referred to Indonesia (6-12 units during the years 2028 to 2032), Iran (1936 to 1948 units during the years 2035 to 2040), Kazakhstan (12-24 points during the years 2025 to 2035) China (up 100 units in 2025 -2035 years), Libya (1912 to 1924 units during the years 2025-2030), Malaysia (12-24 points during the years 2035-2040) and Syria (12-24 points during the years 2025-2030).

India is expected to acquire at least 250 fighter T-50.

However it is worth noting that according to the chart of possible orders would not release and extraction of the T-50 than in 2025, ten years after its introduction into service in the Russian Air Force. Is the normal time for a new Russian fighter built before the export version.

I think the priority for Greece right now should be economic recovery, not buying top of the line fighter jets.

Only if Greece can afford to pay it. On the side note Greece is a NATO member and have ready access to western tech plus F35 why do they need the PAK-FA??

Greece is a small country though. If they decide to purchase the PAK-FA then it will be the first heavy fighter that they've purchased. Wonder if the PAK-FA fits their strategic considerations as well as the lighter F-35.

Also wouldn't Turkey freak out if the Greeks get a heavy duty AA fighter like the PAK-FA?

The PAK-FA is a long range, heavy stealth fighter primarily designed for Air to Air combat while the F-35 is a multi-role stealth fighter. Greece is going to gain an advantage over Turkey eventually if they decide to purchase the PAK-FA.

Negative Turkey won't freak out they have on order 100-125 F-35s that'll replace F-4s, a dozen PAK-FA won't freak out nobody.

siegecrossbow.. F-35 are more capable, That is why us air force will be inducting 2000+, retiring F-16s/F-15s over the next coming years. What sort of advantage will greeks gain by acquiring 12-18 PAK-FAs against 100-125 F-35s of Turkish Air Force along side possible 3 squadrons of EF-2000s or the recent interest in Korean Stealth project.

What sort of offer is that buy su-35 only then will we sell you PAK-FA.

Greece already operates Russian eqipment, there are also a number of 'western' countries that have traditionally operated 'western' equipment that now operate Russian equipment, one example being South Korea.
