Not easy..
They are going to spend millions

Wr should not negotiate with them now

Jusy black list them
Before that, state bank of Pakistan should at least close its bank accts with American banks.

They can flip a switch, and a double digit of SBP balance sheet will evaporate in the blink of an eye in such case.

Just out of curiosity, why did you need a foreign company in what seems to be a simple mining operation?
Because Pakistan had no mining companies of its own by the end of the second Bhutto reich, and the internal capability was so debased that nor the state, nor private sector was able to arrange even few people to man mining trucks, and excavators?
Because Pakistan has no expertise in mining gold.
Gold is one of the easiest things to mine around. Saying that as somebody who worked on electronics for a number of mining companies, including months long on-site work in places like Africa.

Seems a little odd, that Pakistan being one of the bigger economies would not have capabilities for mining.
What is the current situation, who are big mining/refining players in Pakistan.

yes and no. more to do with corruption.

zardari the PPParsi wanted a quick $2billion for his ownself, neglecting to share it with ganja pandit who in revenge set the kana judge on him to sabotage it.

Pakistan looses either way. 6 billion was far too low

usually folks who are corrupt have some brains :-)
