Azam shot down a Dassault Mystère IV, a Vautour and a Mirage III.
Only the last one was really state of the art in 1967.
The Israeli Air Force already had plans to phase out the Mystère IV when the six day war started. The Vautour II was a bomber. Both were phased out in 1971.
Except the Hunter has 20% more thrust. Climbs 2 times faster and has 4 x 30 mm guns instead of the 2 x 30 mm on the Mystère.He shot down the Mystere fighter jet while flying in a Hunter which was more or less in same class as the French aircraft.
According to http://www.cieldegloire.com/016_dror_g.php,
the Mirages carried bombs, while tasked to escort the Vautours in the second action.
The Mirage pilot managed to shoot down a Hunter before he was shot down himself.
The battle ended with one Mirage and two Vautours shot down on the Israeli side, and 2 Hunters shot down on the Arab side.
