He ignored my question...

Well then, a false flagger by inference. Unless he continues with you in Sylheti.

Same with that other gentleman who claims "Sylheti Superiority" looking down on "Dhakaiyas".

Real Sylhetis - let the Sylheti conversation "rip"......

Why are you getting personal? And, being rude?
As far as I can remember I've always shown you due respect. If you wish to change the terms of our engagement, that's your choice.

Your post said "Note also that Bengal was not a Province of Hindustan/ Delhi all through its history"
Bengal was a Mughal Subha, My reply was very relevant to your comment, perhaps you should read your comment again, or write more carefully.

And, don't tell me what you have or have not read, use you knowledge and make your arguments, all I've heard form you are mostly fantasies, present your arguments, not claims about reading books.

I asked you to clarify your position about the Urdu language, but you didn't reply, were you scared? Use the books you read to provide a suitable reply, don't act clever, try and be clever, there's a difference.
I don't make big claims, I am just presenting my arguments, counter them, don't cry about it.
Where did I get personal? I just protested that you have put false words in my mouth. Stop it especially when it is the history of Bengal and Hindustan.

Read many old history books to know about the history of Bengal before you falsely claim it is only you who knows history.

I found you do not know the history of Bengal. Sending an internet link does not prove that you know. Tell me which part of my statement was wrong. And if I am not wrong, why do you have the audacity to teach me history?

Hi,

I have wondering very recently, that E.P was the majority pop of the whole sovereign. Yet people were poorer, earned less and that province brought in more export dollar for the whole sovereign for much of united paks life, whilst also importing less consumer products.

It's not a far stretch to say bengali People were exploited. Also with competent rulers they spend more gdp per capita where that area spruns more growth, the refore bringing in more dollars into the country. Also supporting policy that generates more growth.
That happens to be also the most of the populace. This can be seen all over the world, but not in United pak.

Education was not easily accessible for many, Education materials were also not easily accessible for many.

The vast majority did not have tv's very luck sob's had radios. Electricity was like the equivalent of miracles.

If you were a Dr and had a push bike, people were gawking at you 😉, like this man made it. Human pedal power of 1, those internal combustion engines were just a scam.

Most people had no direct to direct interaction of the martial race paks, so when jinnah said to the majority of population that urdu will be the only language in united pak, what was this Hindu thinking?

Did jinnah have any sort of thought of how the majority of the people will adopt urdu? Or was this a conspiracy, as in another thread, member admitted that Pakistanis thought bengalis as people at the back of the ship, while they were at the front. To suppress bengalis?
Hi,

Don't blame everything on Jinnah---.

He was dying and the only people that knew that were his sister and his physician

His only and only focus was for an independent pakistan---.

He was not an urdu speaker---so he cared less about urdu---.

His priority was to have english language---.

But he was forced by his patrons to push for URDU---just like his patrons pushed for this worthless dress " shalwar Kameez to be the national dress ".

You could have used brains and switched over to Urdu in WP and Bangla in EP---. Who stopped you from doing that---?

If he had his way---it would have been english as the language of choice and pant shirt as the national dress---.

Who had the power to overrule him? He seems to have been a strong and confident man to be pushed over.

Should have been Farsi as the national language. Farsi the only language both and east and west Pakistan historically had in common, whereas Urdu has no history in Bengal.

All these languages are dead languages I.e. elite journals, research and literature are not written in these languages.

English should have been the national language with the rest as regional second languages.

Making English the national language of India has enabled Hindus to leapfrog Muslims.

Fighting over Urdu and Bengali is like two bald men fighting over a comb.

Be like British Sylhetis. We love our language but when it comes to serious stuff it’s English.

I will small talk in Sylheti with my parents but serous stuff is always discussed in English 🤣🤣🤣

When I go to India I find the same phenomenon there as well. Chit chat is in local language but serious stuff is always in English.

Bangladesh was taken over by the Chetona mob - who created the drama over “bhasha andolon” in 1952.

This is now ingrained in the “Dhakaya elite” - who struggle with English. And then whine when Indians are selected for jobs 🤣🤣🤣

@EasyNow
@UKBengali

Sylhet now has a critical mass of English speakers thanks to the British diaspora. I see the next generation finally usurping the idiotic uncouth Dhakaya street agitators.

You did get personal, and were rude, but I recognise we can all say things that come across not as intended, it's ok. And to be clear, at no point I intended anything bad towards you, putting words in mouth or anything, if it ever does happen, consider it a mistake. There are few members or topics here that I don't give a crap about, hence don't care what or how I write, you are not one of them.

I find there are lot of misunderstandings on lot of topics, I was just adding my clarification, that's all, you're free to correct me, but any correction does not mean it is the complete truth. I never consider anything I say to be the complete truth, although I believe it to be the truth, otherwise I would not say it, but I am always open to sensible rebuttals.

I have never claimed to know the history of Bengal, so I do not know how you developed that assumption, I know I don't know the history of Bengal, but the issues we are discussing on these forums are trivial, they are not state secrets. I don't need a PHD to know 2+2=4. Just because I do not know the history of Bengal does not mean I do not know anything about Bengal, there's a difference, please recognise it.

If I am discussing a topic, I discuss it according to my knowledge, it does not mean the other can create their own assumptions about the superiority of their own knowledge, and stupidity of the other, if the other is wrong then make a clearer correction, and back it up with examples or logical reasoning. Also please remember, much of history is about perspective, just because a thing is said in a dozen books, does not mean the 13th book is wrong if it contradicts the first dozen. Truth has a habit of sh.ting on falsehoods, it always shines through.
So, discuss and let the truth shine through. It really is that simple.

Dude, you know that he is a old man in real life right? 70+ year old.

This old man gets personal very easily

I did not know that, but I actually like him, no matter what his age, but thanks for letting me know, I will keep it in mind. But, it also clarifies certain things.

Same here.

Mainly short distance, and speed training though.
I am currently aiming to hit a mile in 4.59 or less

Damn! Its good to be young. My 1 mile PB is 10:20 apparently per my Strava. But to be fair, all my runs are MAF runs. I don't do HIIT. I don't do hill sprints. I haven't even done strides to be honest.

I just ran a 10k in 70 minutes. Want to improve that to under 60 eventually.
