PTI govt set to launch 13 mega agri-projects
Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob Sultan says joint venture with China will help efficiently tap resources

ISLAMABAD: The government is set to launch 13 mega projects across the country in an effort to give a fresh boost to the agriculture sector with assistance from China, announced Federal Minister for National Food Security Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob Sultan.

Talking to a delegation of China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) on Monday, the minister said Pakistan was lagging behind due to lower value addition in its products because of a lack of requisite technology. “A joint venture with China and adoption of best practices will help efficiently tap Pakistan’s agricultural resources,” he said.

Under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), both countries had gone beyond traditional levels of cooperation such as assistance in crop farming, cattle farming and mechanisation and were moving towards collaborating in food storage and exports, he said.

“This assistance will be mutually beneficial and bring the two countries closer,” Sultan added.

The delegation expressed the desire to hold the China-Pakistan Agricultural Cooperation Summit in Islamabad, in collaboration with the Chinese embassy in Pakistan, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (Parc) and China Agricultural Association for International Exchange.

The delegation highlighted their eagerness to collaborate with Pakistan through the Pak-China Modern Agriculture Comprehensive Development project.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Food Security was processing a memorandum of understanding between Parc and CMEC, the delegation added.

Under the project, China would provide assistance in the relevant field through technical and financial support, the delegation said. “The collaboration will help advance the government’s objective of poverty alleviation.”

then provincial govt should stop fooling the people by given every month new completion dates, there is no harm to admit it was a highly miss managed project, no proper planning was involved in it, therefore no proper time frame of completion, and on political front nobody is owning it now

    that 100% agree
is become a political soft launch machine
they even forced the contratcor to buy the buses aheaad of time

--proper plan was studied by ADB and executed by contractor till Pakistan army re routed it at surey bridge
that was what caused this whole issue

    --
important to note that PTI did best to screw this project, credit goes to 100% to ADB, 0% to PTI

by the way other than this project, PTI has turn to be a big disappointment, i voted them and now i feel i made the mistake, original PTI workers has already gone in to drain, the current team are bunch of opportunist gathered from several parties, clearly they have no interest with original PTI manifesto nor they have any capacity, our CM punjab joined PTI few days before election yet he is the true face of PTI :D damn :D, our current information minister she jumped from people party and there she is ... :D .. people like Omar Cheema and other principled PTI members have long gone in drain ... what a disappointment man

definitively they failed to do education reforms in KPK but were somewhat successful in bringing the MTI act which faced huge resistance

agriculture has great potential for exports in short term just by increasing per acre yield our cost can come down and we can be competitive in international market on sugar, wheat, cotton.

everything interconnected, it is PTI who announced the agriculture emergency back in August 2018 during that emergency we saw the drastic increase in prices of DAP and Urea after every few month we listen a package for agriculture sector, if you dig out so far PTI work performance trust me you will find nothing substantial, not even any major effort, if planing is the first factor then capacity is the second major and the most important factor, which PTI govt. don't have. they are just paper tigers who can do just one thing ... Blaming others for their own failures
