its a combat jet, what did you expect it will be doing? and why waste money on stealth if its for rescue or extinguishing fires?I hate the idea of planes just being developed for bombing and combat. Wish they had more roles to full fill...

Its a war machine dude what do you expect from fighter jet to do other than bombing and combat??? Laying seed for agriculture or spraying pesticides lolMore importantly can we sell the damn thing? All that money spent on development. And also what about any non-military uses. Maybe fire extinguishing or slow flight search/rescue. Maybe spy or counter spy espionage.

It isn't easy to develop an engine for a modern fighter jet. The engines for F15 was first full of all kinds of problems and got numerous complaints from US Air force in the early years. It took 15 years to be mature in service. China WS10 project was started in late 70s. It took 40 years to get mature in the model of WS10B.There won't be any export limitations for TFX. Production won't be with F110. There will be an indigenous engine.
That being said, the plane didn't even fly yet, there's a long road ahead
We have a head start with previous turbine and jet engines and I'm confident that we'll hit the 2030 goalsIt isn't easy to develop an engine for a modern fighter jet. You might be too optimistic. You don't know how difficult it is. It demands the supports of the entire industrial system, not just design, but manufacture, materials and etc, Let alone that it needs decades to expose and fix the issues in testing and service. We have a head start with previous turbine and jet engines and I'm confident that we'll hit the 2030 goals
Not to mention the Rolls Royce partnership on this particular engine
fortunately, we have decades of experience and we are very well motivated. You might be too optimistic. You don't know how difficult it is. Bro don't be so defeatist. These planes are still in development phase in their respective countries.
Pakistan is not getting any 5th gen plane from either Turkey or China. Please stop dreaming. We just got J-10 and God knows how we paid for them (or will be paying for them), let alone looking to buy another type.
Project Azm is dead. Create corresponding TFX or J-35 threads and close this one!
In future they can go with combo of both, to keep east and west combo and even have medium and heavy 5th gen by adoption of both in limited numbersMajor problem with TFX for Pakistan is the powerplant. Pakistan will likely not be able to get F110... Pakistan needs ITAR Free systems, especially for strategic assets, and im not sure the Eurojet derivative Rolls Royce was supposed to develop with Turkey would be a viable solution unless Turkeh gets full rights to build and sell without UK involvement.
This adoption of 5th gen from china or turkey will in decade or above in term as project azm , so brother be optimistic for economic situation at that timeThese planes are still in development phase in their respective countries.
