at the same time establishment doesn't want PTI to get too strong to challenge them. That's why they are supporting corrupt mafia to keep balance of power, otherwise they could have banned MQM and have taken serious steps toward PMLN but they didn't.
yeah that is true. establishment won't let alone turn into another bhutto or gongla sharif. a good way to avoid this mistrust is to make constitutional amendments where the military & judicial deep state is considered as a stake holder in everything & get their approvals in all matters of national importance. kinda a like a constitutional security counsel.at the same time establishment doesn't want PTI to get too strong to challenge them. That's why they are supporting corrupt mafia to keep balance of power, otherwise they could have banned MQM and have taken serious action against PMLN but they didn't.
Being blind will be if someone challenges the higher imports during PML but being stupid will be when someone questions the 'imports' without going into the details of what was being imported. Perhaps some investment of time in CPEC and related imports during PML may be in order?I repeat
The country was taking loans to buy imports and artificially fix our currency wasting BILLIONS
I am not asking you to be a genius, I am just asking you not to be blind and stupid
Imports are not free lunch. They must be financed through external debt or exports. As exports declined during PMLN and external debt exploded, hence these imports were devastating for Pakistan in the long run.Being blind will be if someone challenges the higher imports during PML but being stupid will be when someone questions the 'imports' without going into the details of what was being imported. Perhaps some investment of time in CPEC and related imports during PML may be in order?
I thought you were simply an ignorant; but evidently you cannot read or maybe you can read but are unable to understand. Who here said anything about Ishaq Dar's Award being given by the IMF??? Or maybe you are just a habitual liar and like to sidestep and deceive other members on the forum??This piece of lies has already been debunked many times starting with the lie that Ishaq Dollar won prize of bestest economist in Asia

IMF distances itself from Ishaq Dar's 'Finance Minister of the Year' award | The Express Tribune
Mission chief says Emerging Markets not linked to IMF amid revelations that state-owned firms funded latest editiontribune.com.pk
Why don't you ask the person whom you follow, the Munafiq-e-Aala, the one who categorically stated that he would commit suicide before going to the IMF.If economy was so great in 2018, why Pakistan was forced to IMF doorstep again?

The ministries of finance and planning and development had claimed that the Emerging Markets is a World Bank and IMF publication and that it was a matter of honour for the country that the publication bestowed these awards to Pakistani political personalities.Who here said anything about Ishaq Dar's Award being given by the IMF???
IK didn't say he would commit suicide if Pakistan was to default by not going to IMF. IK's ego is not bigger than his loyalty to Pakistan. Why don't you ask the person whom you follow, the Munafiq-e-Aala, the one who categorically stated that he would commit suicide before going to the IMF.
Ok, let me try and explain yet again, we were importing machinary, raw material and other items which were 'essential' for CPEC, for Power Generation etc., which was required to set the base for an economy that would eventually become export oriented. Everything that we needed to become export oriented had to be IMPORTED!Imports are not free lunch. They must be financed through external debt or exports. As exports declined during PMLN and external debt exploded, hence these imports were devastating for Pakistan in the long run.
You must have posted the above graph, and related import material maybe a few hundred times on this forum......have you ever, even once, bothered to go into the details of what was actually being imported that created this effect? Was NS or Dar importing goods for their own houses?
Do you even know who you need to thank for the increase in export? with availability of sufficient power and machinery for the industry? Or perhaps you are led to believe, which wouldn't be difficult in your case, that all the businessmen were sitting idle with switched of plants and industry during PML tenure for some ulterior motive by the PML.
This again refers to our higher imports which were because of ............ ??? It shouldn't be too hard after all the hints you have been provided left, right and center.
And again.....
What is important is what I said and posted, I am not responsible for anyone else. And I never mentioned anything about IMF. However, the Emerging Markets publication did honor Dar with the award and they are not your average Joe's who write articles on whims in Dawn............The ministries of finance and planning and development had claimed that the Emerging Markets is a World Bank and IMF publication and that it was a matter of honour for the country that the publication bestowed these awards to Pakistani political personalities.
“Emerging Markets is an independent publication,” said Harald Finger, the Washington-based chief of the IMF mission for Pakistan, while addressing a press conference from Washington through a video-link. He was responding to a question about whether he congratulated Finance Minister Dar on winning IMF/WB Best South Asia Minister award.
“The IMF is not involved with the Emerging Markets publication,” said Wafa Amr, IMF’s Washington-based media contact person for Pakistan, who was also present at the occasion.
Hmmm......so there were conditions to his suicide, in reference to going to the IMF. I must have missed the fine print!IK didn't say he would commit suicide if Pakistan was to default by not going to IMF. IK's ego is not bigger than his loyalty to Pakistan.
OK now that we have the most expensive CPEC electricity in the region and surplus energy, where is the promised export growth? You do know that Pakistan can't compete in export market with this electricity price?Ok, let me try and explain yet again, we were importing machinary, raw material and other items which were 'essential' for CPEC, for Power Generation etc., which was required to set the base for an economy that would eventually become export oriented
No, they were importing goods to get artificial GDP growth on import consumption. Was NS or Dar importing goods for their own houses?
Availability of sufficient power was not the problem but affordable power. Pakistan still has the most expensive electricity in the region despite surplus power post CPEC.with availability of sufficient power and machinery for the industry?
An economy that was driven by import consumption instead of export growth was bound to contract during the stabilization phase. On the other hand, if someone causes a loss to the point where the economy not only nose dives but actually contracts, then even small loans start crushing.
Dharna was happening in a small chowk of Islamabad. It wasn't blocking anything. As for your insinuation about IK being loyal, the fact that important country visits by Turkish, Chinese and perhaps even the Russian premiers were blocked by IK during his Dharna
The imports for 2017-18 exceeded exports by $40 billion. The year prior about $35 billion. In just two years this is $75 billion. By 2018 CPEC expenditure was below $20 billion. So how you explain imports reach the skies after CPEC investment of less than $20 billion.
everything under the sun was being imported. even dog food. fricking dog food.Being blind will be if someone challenges the higher imports during PML but being stupid will be when someone questions the 'imports' without going into the details of what was being imported. Perhaps some investment of time in CPEC and related imports during PML may be in order?
And then run away to London on PM's plane under the pretext of false illness just like his boss Nawaz SharifDar-economics was about borrowing money to make imports cheaper.
everything under the sun was being imported. even dog food. fricking dog food.
Exactly. 60 billion USD import in 2018 with only 23 billion USD export. Darnomics gang raped Pakistani economy.Hint: Most of the imports were on superflous items like cars, cofee and designer clothing fueled by strong rupee held up by borrowed dollars.
