I would think the French would have the edge on electronics over the Chinese just about.

Think the J-10C would come close though and so not too much of a gap there.

They just have more experience if you look at all the fighter radars they have built since the 1980s and EW suites like Spectra.
J-10c has more engine power output and much bigger nosecone for radar housing. You know what that means right?

Plus, China has dedicated ew fighter the j16D. Don't think China is behind in tech.

J10C is a superb jet

Pakistan can outpace India and it's Rafale purchase

With a waiting line for rafales, India won't get any additional planes any time soon

There is talks of Pakistan receiving upto 60 J10Cs now and that can easily expand to 100

50 JF17s block 3 are also on their way

So that's anything between 100-150 aesa and PL15 equipped fighters coming our way

Honestly between these, the VT4s, ships, air defence missiles, Pakistan has planned well against india
Its good we are getting J-10C.

But we need to improve our Navy as well.

Everything is made in china
A full supply line from same source has better intergration than another product which need to source parts from different region.

What software? Value of Chinese software companies is much higher than French software companies in every category from embedded systems to RF to networking. Entire French software market is $62 billion. Alibaba alone has revenue $128 billion.

What experience? Experience in analog radars in the 1980's doesn't mean experience in solid state electronics.
He is still living in the 80s , clinging onto the old world.

The catch about the J-10C is that we are working with our ally. In the long run, this is better than buying more F-16s.

And USA loses leverage over Pakistan. No need to buy USA military equipment anymore.

If you buy F16, your pilots will go "Wait commander. I can't chase the Rafael because it's returning to India after it bombed our posts into ashes. I can only fire at it in Pak airspace."
Or...
"Can't do, Commander. It's a French-made. Can't lock on it. My radar is jammed."

Go figure.

After alleged images of the J-10C fighter jet with the marking of the Pakistan Air Force recently emerged on social media and were widely circulated by media outlets, Chinese analysts on Sunday lauded the latest defense cooperation between China and Pakistan, saying that the move yields great significance to both countries, in terms of boosting combat capabilities of the Pakistan military, promoting China's aviation equipment, and responding to both countries' security interests in the region.

First published on social media on Tuesday, the images show two J-10Cs, equipped with China's domestically developed WS-10B Taihang turbofan engines, undertaking test flights at an undisclosed location, UK-based defense news website Janes.com reported on Wednesday.

"If confirmed, this could be the first time China has exported the J-10 series fighter and also the first time it has exported the WS-10 series engine," observers said.

While the authenticity of the images remains unknown, Pakistan's Interior Minister, Skeish Rashid Ahmed, told the media in December 2021 that a first batch of J-10Cs will be introduced during the fly-past that will be held for the commemoration of Pakistan's Republic Day on 23 March, 2022, according to the report.

"The J-10C will significantly enhance the combat capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force," Chinese analysts said.

"The J-10C is a 4.5-generation medium-size fighter jet and is more powerful than the China-Pakistan jointly developed lightweight fighter jet, the JF-17, which is currently in service with the Pakistan Air Force," Shi Hong, Executive Chief Editor of the Chinese magazine, Shipborne Weapons, told the Global Times on Sunday.

"The J-10C is larger and can be equipped with a bigger active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar than the one used by the JF-17 Block 3," Shi said, noting that the J-10C can also carry more advanced, fourth-generation air-to-air missiles including the short-range PL-10 and the beyond-visual-range PL-15.

"The J-10C is also significantly more powerful than the old US-made F-16 fighter jet of the Pakistan Air Force and can rival the Rafale fighter jet that recently entered service with the Indian Air Force," Shi said.

"Pakistan's J-10C will not replace the JF-17, but form a combination, leading to higher combat capabilities," Shi said.

In addition to the J-10C, Pakistan's other military branches have also recently commissioned advanced Chinese equipment. For example, the navy received the first Type 054A/P frigate, and the army acquired the HQ-9/P air defense missile system, according to media reports.

"This demonstrates that defense cooperation between China and Pakistan is going even wider and deeper, and the large-scale adaptation of Chinese equipment by all Pakistani military services will significantly boost their combat capabilities," Shi said, noting that a simple system with most Chinese hardware can also be supply chain friendly.

To China, the first successful sale of the J-10 series fighter and the WS-10 series engine will further open the international market and more countries will show serious interests in Chinese aviation equipment, analysts said.

"Pakistan's procurement of the J-10C is also meaningful for China and Pakistan as a more powerful Pakistan military can better safeguard the shared interests of the two countries in the region," Shi said.

During the induction ceremony of the first Type 054A/P frigate in January, the President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi, said that the ship will help to safeguard the sea routes of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Which radar? Have any info or brochures about J-10C radar?? Its name KLJ-10A ???

And what about the retirement plans for our elites?? They can't possibly be settling in Beijing after retirement or setup a family business there! It must be somewhere in US or EU 😜

Successful integration with PAF will pave the way for J10C to attract more export orders for sure especially when Russian stuff is going to get sanctioned left to right. European stuff is way expensive where as American hardware comes with conditions. So the timings of J10Cs induction with in PAF couldn't get better for its future sale prospects to other countries as well.

Its good we are getting J-10C.

But we need to improve our Navy as well.
Navy is getting 8 major ships and 8 major subs along with alot sea sultan and ATR-72
That is 400% increase in capacity in just 5 years(2022-2027)

I doubt we can speed it up further

The need is airforce
It is underinvested

Needs either 60-70 j10s since f16s havent materialized over last 10 years

Exactly, that is the problem, only if Pakistan's foreign policy got rid of Dual nationality.

Navy was being ignored for too long. Now Pakistan Navy is going to be potent force to reckon with.

PAF is advancing on a smooth path. Nothing to worry about. JF-17 Block 3 and J-10CP are being inducted. I think J-10s would eventually get to those numbers you mentioned. Meanwhile Project Azm is advancing at pace smoothly.

TAI CEO confirmed himself about the fusion of Project Azm and Turkish TFX program. TAI with collaboration of PAC and FAST University and inputs from the PAF is currently working on various JVs including the upcoming 5th Gen fighter which he named Turk Pakistani Next Gen Fighter. J-20/J-31/J-35 are insurance policy to our 5th Gen acquisition if we are pushed hard to do so. Our aviation industry would get exponential boost in design and development of a 5th gen fighter incorporating the latest western techs with full authority and IP rights over it through TAI, which already has close ties with the best western firms or you may say Turks simply buy their services for cooperation.

J-10C is the equivalent of the Rafale that India has.

It may slightly lack in electronics and radar but has better high altiude aerodynamic performance than the Rafale.

India paid around 2.5x per plane than the Pakistanis for similar performance.

Forget about taking on China, IAF will have a hard time beating the PAF. In fact with J-10C, JF-17 Block 3, latest F-16s and better tactics/pilots I would think that the PAF would win an air war against IAF.

WTF !
China today is the Center of Electronics development and production all over the world.

For Example :
J-10C AESA Radar from NRIET is Much Superior than Rafale RBE2-AA AESA Radar.
J-10C AESA Radar from NRIET have 1,200 T/R Modules, while Rafale RBE2-AA only have 830 T/R Modules.

Rafale aesa.png

For Reference :
APG-83 SABR in F-16 Block 70 Viper have 1,100 T/R Modules
APG-81 AESA in F-35 have 1,676 T/R Modules
AESA Radar on J-16 Heavy Fighter have 1,760 T/R Modules
AESA Radar on J-20 Stealth Fighter have 1,856 T/R Modules
