Pakistan Named World Leader in Implementing UN Sustainable Development Goals

According to a report by the United Nations Sustainable Development Framework (UNSDF), Pakistan is leading from the front where implementing the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is concerned.

The report has termed Pakistan’s economic growth as ‘inclusive’ which would ultimately benefit all citizens regardless of their social background.

Women, men, boys, girls, and transgender individuals would fulfill their potential with dignity and equality of opportunity as a result of equitable social development that the economic growth would engender, the report added.
Moreover, the all-inclusive and targeted policies of the incumbent PTI government would allow citizens to have access to quality services in near future.

The economic growth coupled with good governance would not only benefit the current generation but will also cater to the needs of future generations, the report concluded.

In a statement, the UN reaffirmed its commitment to working with Pakistan’s government at the grassroots level to implement all SDGs and bring a positive change in the country.
It pledged to adhere to the principle of “leaving no one behind” and improve the living conditions of all the people in the country, especially the most vulnerable, marginalized, and disadvantaged factions of the society.

There is so much work to do. We don't recycle, we don't manage waste properly, we don't take advantage of solar and wind power and most critically, we don't preserve water, treat our sewage and prevent water pollution.
