Pakistan has decided to shut down its embassy in Kabul for an indefinite period due to recent incident of harassment of its staff and officers.

The embassy said that it was halting its operations from Monday onwards for an indefinite period due to security reasons, local media reported. "Due to security reasons, Consular Section of the Embassy of Pakistan, Kabul will be closed from tomorrow Monday, 4th November, 2019 until further intimation," the statement by the embassy said.

On Sunday, the Foreign Office summoned Afghan chargé d'affaires in Islamabad to protest the harassment over the past two days of the staff of the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul and its sub-missions.

"The Afghan Cd'A was informed that the officers and staff of the embassy of Pakistan were being harassed over the past two days. They were obstructed on the road and the embassy vehicles were also hit by motorcycles while going towards the embassy," the FO statement read.

The statement continued that the chargé d'affaires was reminded that it is the responsibility of the Government of Afghanistan to ensure safety, security and freedom of movement to all members of the mission. He was also asked to convey to the authorities to 'immediately investigate these security violations and harassment incidents'.

Pakistan also requested the chargé d'affaires that a report in this regard be shared with Pakistan and that measures are taken to guard against the recurrence of such incidents in the future.

Afghan puppet government is trying its best to destabilize the relation with Pakistan.

The only victims are struggling Afghan citizens and Pakistanis residing near border who have nothing to do with geopolitics.

Either ban visa issuing or raise visa fees going forward, enough of their disgraceful behaviour. Enough of our appeasement policy, they won’t change.

Lock the embassy up for a month and along with it close either landi kotal or torkham crossing and the same idiots will beg u for reversing the decision.
These are pests.. The recent wheat shortage in kpk is bcoz of smuhgling of flour as samolina and baking flour.
Time to get tough and get real with these

Mugha samaj nahi atti when we close border these freaks start crying when we let them pass they start using dirty tactics. I think we should simply move past any sympathy and close border with Afghanistan and throw their embassy out till taliban resume the matter of states in their hands.

They'll open it again few days after pressure from beghairat pti govt. and traitor Shah Mehmood Qureshi, will get harassed and beaten, and so on. Afghans will mock and insult Pakistanis The cycle will continue just like the last many years.
Border crossings are still open. Just close them and transit trade, close airspace and then see Afghan govt. bending over backwards.

Or just block wheat trade into Afghanistan would help reduce food prices in Pakistan.

But unfortunately we don't have a leadership or govt. to protect Pakistani citizens' honour.

Do you understand how a government works? You cant close an embassy without the directive of the foreign affairs ministry and the PM so stop your whining

What about millions of Afghan refugees living in Pakistan? This is a half glass empty solution.
