Pakistan, China agree to expedite work on Bahawalpur solar project

    LAHORE: Pakistan and China have agreed to gear up work on generating 900 megawatts of electricity in Bahawalpur Solar Power Park, said areport published on Radio Pakistan.

    The understanding came during a meeting between Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and a Chinese delegation in Lahore today.

    Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the solar power park project is part of the China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC).

    He said the project will be completed by 2016 while 300 megawatts (MW) of electricity will be generated from the power park by the end of this year.

    Shahbaz also said the Chinese company will be provided all possible facilities for timely completion of the project as per the best international standards.

    In the first phase, at least 0.5 million solar panels were installed in three blocks over 500 acres of the solar park land.

    Earlier, the infrastructure for the park, including a boundary wall, buildings and roads were constructed while water was taken to the site from a nearby canal. The construction work of the first phase of 100MW had been completed earlier in the year.

    The second and third units of the solar park comprise 300MW and 600MW, respectively. The work on these two units had been jointly inaugurated during by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the latter's visit in March.

    The second phase is expected to be completed in the beginning of next year followed by work on the third phase.

    Punjab govt spending Rs 360b on power projects

    LAHORE (Web Desk) – In Punjab, several power projects are being completed at a cost of three hundred and sixty billion rupees with Chinese assistance.

    Giving details of the power projects, the Punjab Parliamentary Secretary for Finance, Rana Babar Hussain said the initial work has been launched on the two coal-run power projects at Rahim Yar Khan and Muzaffargarh with total generation capacity of 1,320 megawatts.

    He said that work has also been initiated on the coal-run project at Sahiwal, which will be completed at a cost of 180 billion rupees. The Parliamentary Secretary said that work on nine hundred megawatts solar energy-run power project at Quaid e Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur has also begun, which will be completed next year at a cost of 135 billion rupees.

    PUNJAB: Pakistan and China agreed on Saturday to complete work on generating 900 megawatts of electricity in Bahawalpur Solar Power Park by 2016, Radio Pakistanreported.

    “The project will be completed by 2016 while 300-megawatt of electricity will be generated from the power park by the end of this year,” Punjab Chief Mister Shahbaz Sharif said during a meeting with a Chinese delegation in Lahore.

    “The government has assured the Chinese company that all possible facilities will be provided to ensure that work can be finished on time,” Shahbaz added.

    The Punjab chief minister upheld the solar power park project is part of China, Pakistan Economic Corridor.

    Earlier today, Pakistan and China decided to jointly establish ‘IIU New Silk Road School of Technology’.

    This was agreed in a meeting between a Chinese delegation led by educationist Din Hai Tao and International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai. The delegation also consisting of Chinese entrepreneurs offered faculty and management support for the school.

    transmission line they need to change transmission lines

    3 projects are underway for new transmission line Pakistani is capable of producing 21000 MW today but lines can't take that much load plus line losses and Kunda system increasing Debts.....

    Then why isnt their brain working in their direction or should my question be do they have a brain that can be used to work in that direction?
