Pakistan, Australia pledge to further strengthen defense ties

    Pakistan and Australia have reviewed the existing defense and security cooperation with the pledge to further strengthen the same between the two countries, reported by Radio Pakistan.

    According to ISPR, this was reached at a meeting between Australian Chief of Defense Forces Air Chief Marshall Mark Binskin and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat in Rawalpindi.

    The Australian dignitary acknowledged and appreciated the role of Pakistan's Armed Forces in regional peace and security.

    He acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in war against terrorism.

    Australian Chief of Defense Forces also participated in Pakistan-Australia Defense and Security Talks and Dialogue forums.

    Australia acknowledges Pakistan's sacrifices in war on terror

    Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Australia Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin on Tuesday acknowledged and appreciated the efforts and sacrifices of Pakistan Army in war against terrorism and for regional stability, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).


    ISPR said in a statement that the Chief of Australian defence forces met Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa during his visit to General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

    During the meeting, the two military commanders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including defence and security cooperation between both the countries and overall regional security situation, the statement added.

    Later, the chief of Australian defence forces also called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mehmood Hayat.

    The two figures shared views on defence and security cooperation, and regional security situation, the ISPR added.

    Earlier on his arrival at the GHQ, Air Chief Marshal Binskin was presented with a Guard of Honour and he laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
