The spokesman of Pakistan foreign ministry has said that Pakistan and India have exchanged the documents pertaining to the information of nuclear installments.

The document, which is actually an agreement to abstain from assault on each other’s nuclear sites, was inked on Tuesday.

The transfer of the documents is a matter of routine and helps boost ties and confidence level between the two countries.

It is pertinent to mention here that a 10-member delegation from Pakistan had visited New Delhi on December 27 to attend a two-day moot on nuclear and traditional weapons, regional peace and agreement to ceasefire on Line of Control.

For the twenty-second consecutive time, India and Pakistan today exchanged the list of nuclear installations and facilities covered under the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear installations agreement between the two countries.

“India and Pakistan today exchanged, through diplomatic channels simultaneously at New Delhi and Islamabad, the list of nuclear installations and facilities covered under the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear installations between India and Pakistan,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a release.

The agreement, which was signed on December 31, 1988 and entered into force on January 27, 1991, provides, inter alia, that the two countries inform each other of nuclear installations and facilities to be covered under the agreement on the first of January of every calendar year, it said.

This is the 22 consecutive exchange of such lists between the two countries, the first one having taken place on January 1, 1992.

What kind of facilities are covered under this? Civilian only or is military included in this as well. There are some secret sites as well, no country would want to tell the other that 'here we are'!!!

Good for both of them we wish both countries could live with peace and love beside they lived together having same language faces cultures designations almost same laws many things they are different from other races in the world they have many things same Muslims Hindus are present in both countries walking in Delhi and walking in Karachi you will feel same hope they work with unity and progress together and don't become the slaves easy target of western nations powers and remain indulge in the dirty things which are bad for the future generations of both countries they should resolve their issues which were left by Britishers to keep them slave and sell their weapons by keeping them busy on fighting and pulling legs of each other.

Well there was Nilore near Islamabad. In the 70's, it was practically bought by the Army and government and citizens were moved out after compensation. Research work got underway there. And it became a no go zone.

Now, it is a open city. But it still has a close attachment to nuclear program. PINSTECH and PIEAC are premier universities regarding nuclear research in Pakistan and are located there.

Nowadays, I don't know of any. Most of the program is now underground. It may seem like barren land of Balochistan, but under the sand and rock, there are huge complexes. Hospitals, officers messes, accommodation, offices, sites all are located underground now for those people dealing with this stuff directly.

No information about 'nuclear plans' is exchanged, only the position of nuclear installations.

Pakistan and India have an agreement about informaing each other prior to their missile tests, but even that is done a few hours before launch.

i think no such kind of agreement should assigned between these countries , specially in case of nuclear weapons , :pakistan: ( as the person nuclearpak said , ''no country would want to tell the other that 'here we are'!!! ) It should be confidential

We can trust a fox , but not ............

These are just agreements on paper made to look fancy and all colorful, providing some hope in times of peace. If a war breaks out (God forbid) then nobody will care about this agreement that we can't attack site A because of this agreement, they will just do what comes in their mind.

And I am sure it is just the more popular sites that are already in the public domain or easily recognizable, like the Heavy water plant near Multan, Nuclear plants near Karachi and the Uranium facilities in DG Khan.
