Yes! It is story still not commonly known outside of Pakistan. In 1947, a group of Polish 17 pilots and 13 technicians led by Wladyslaw Turowicz landed in Pakistan and started to build Pakistan Air Force.

In 1947, when Pakistan was created as an independent country, a new government asked the British Air Force command for pointing out the most experienced and trusted pilots who would be able to create air force in Pakistan.
The British professionals suggested Polish officers, pilots that after the World War II when they gained the fame as brilliant pilots, still remained in the British army.

A small group of 17 Polish pilots led by Turowicz arrived to Pakistan in 1947 and so the National Pakistani Air Force was born. Till nowadays considered to be one of the most professional in the world.

A very young officer, named Turowicz together with his wife a civil pilot, volunteered to lead the group of pilots that was supposed to create the Pakistani Air Force.
They both went through a hell in Siberia, and once rescued by the general Anders army got to England where they fought for the world´ s and Polish freedom.
Mrs. Turowicz formed women pilots and paratroopers for the purposes of the Pakistani army. She is still living in Karachi.
General Turowicz died in 1980 and is buried in Karachi. It has never been an issue they being catholic.
Turowicz was quickly promoted to a general and is considered a Pakistani national hero while in Poland, due to communist censorship it was prohibited to talk and publish any data of this extraordinary person.
Every Pakistani pilot knows him and his achievements.

(It can be part of history, but didn't feel like post this thread in history, because its present and future)

Sorry to bust your false perception but this story is well known and is taught as part of PAF history. Not only Polish established Pakistani air-force but also the space and missile programs. Pakistan enjoys good rapport among poles, particular due to large Pakistan-sympathetic Turkic Muslim community in Poland!

Royal Pakistan Air Force came into existence on August 14, 1947 ( The prefix Royal was dropped on March 23, 1956 when pakistan became a republic). In those days, RPAF had English, Irish, Polish and Pakistani officers. The first four Chief of Air Staff ( or C in C as they were then called) were British:

1.Air Vice Marshal Allan Perry-Keene (August 15, 1947 – February 17, 1949)
2.Air Vice Marshal Richard Atcherley (February 18, 1949 – May 6, 1951)
3.Air Vice Marshal Leslie William Cannon (May 7, 1951 – June 19, 1955)
4.Air Vice Marshal Arthur McDonald (June 20, 1955 – July 22, 1957)
5.Air Marshal Asghar Khan (July 23, 1957 – July 22, 1965)
6.Air Marshal Nur Khan (July 23, 1965 – August 31, 1969)

In fact during 1970-1972 when I attended PAF Academy Risalpur, the Commandant was Air Commodore Michael J. O'brien , an Irishman who later retired as an AVM in the 1980's. However, the present day PAF is the product of Pakistani aviators and has little resemblance to its British past.

He has top contribution for the Pakistan air force, Turowicz made significant contributions to Pakistan's missile/rocket program as a chief aeronautical engineer and has recently been referred to as the "Rocket-Missile Man of Pakistan. We salute him.
