ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship HIMMAT along with Pakistan Maritime Security Ship BASOL arrived in Doha to participate in Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition (DIMDEX-18).

Pakistani flotilla is headed by Cdre Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, who is the Mission Commander, and is currently commanding the 25th Destroyer Squadron of Pakistan Navy.

The international exhibition hosts large number of navies/security agencies from all around the globe on biennial basis. Pakistan Navy regularly participates in the event with latest and indigenously constructed platforms.

Both the ships are undertaking their maiden overseas deployments after induction in PN and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA).

PNS HIMMAT is an AZMAT Class Fast Attack Craft built in Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KS&EW) and equipped with state of the art weapons and sensors. It is also fitted with indigenously developed HARBAH Missile System and can perform variety of roles/tasks in multi-threat scenarios.

PMSS BASOL is a HINGOL Class Multi Purpose Vessel (MPV) that has been built in China and fitted with state of the art systems for maritime surveillance. The Ship has been optimized to conduct maritime policing and SAR roles effectively.

I'm going to visit DIMDEX tomorrow or day after tomorrow. If I get hold of Pakistani or Turkish Naval Delegations I'm gonna ask them torrent of questions. If you have an queries write it here I'll do my best to ask them.

Which Milgem is in negotiations? istanbul class or simple ? Has/when will the contract be signed.

Has STM signed contract for PNs midget subs?

    To PN:

    Status of new ships, Swiftclass,Type-54A/B?
Which ship has been bought from Damen?
    Info on Harba and Zarb.
Are they working on any under water UAVs? Or planning to buy from local firms?
Are the AW-139s coming with ASW capabilities or only SAR?

A few simple things that you may want to confirm with them just so our fanboys here can be asked to cool it all down a bit!
    1. VLS: The version of Milgem that we are going after and that it is NOT being equipped VLS. Also try to get them to share why THEY think Milgem is better for Pakistan (even without VLS) than countless other options (mainly Chinese) that will even give us commonality of some subsystems and ammunition.
    2. Helicopter (though unlikely but just if you can find someone how can share some details of that). What is up with T129? What version we may go for (T129A or B)
    3. If you can get hold of PN guys, ask them too why are we going for Milgem WITHOUT VLS (that is what we are going for despite what Facebook sources say) and what more it offers compared to some Chinese options. Also about chances of Type 54 with VLS.
    4. Try and learn something about Harba missile may be?
Now we know the asnwer to MOST of these questions but still getting them from the officials may help, only if VERY little, to help the people who think that all is going perfectly fine, that money is no problem and who think that Milgem will actually be on par with LCS of USA!
