    Summary:
    "Red vs Blue" exercise.
    Location: Airbase in Xinjiang
    Planes and forces: J-11B, JH-7, KJ-200, JF-17, Mirage, 40 fighters in total. Command and control, counter-electronic warfare, radar, communications forces
    Mission types: Air to air combat (offensive), close air support (for special forces), and others (not specified)

    PLAA AWACS coordinated JH-7 under the cover of J-11B attacking key ground targets. Pakistani radar detected PLAA fighters. JF-17 took off from the airbase to intercept. Hidden SAM missiles fires to intercept air targets. All under complex electromagnetic environment.
    • Small scale tactical exercise using multiple sorties to complete mission
    • Each side switched roles as defender and attacker
    • Penetrating air defences
    • Boosts tactical coordination and knowledge sharing

    Won't be long before the Chinese bring their J-16s to simulate Su-30SMs and advanced F-15E derivatives, I suppose.

    JF17 has hold its own and there are hints that PAF is more then happy with thunder

    These exercises are not for winning and loosing ,it is to perfect operational doctrine and identify weaknesses so in real scenarios one can avoid mistakes .

    Bahraini F-5s did the best in air-to-ground and Egyptian Vipers with their air-to-air as usual. Overall it was a great exercise for all.
