How can compare with a fighter jet with air to air missile and other missile less aircrafts?
Not all PAF Sabres were modified to carry the sidewinders

The Vietnamese MiG-17s gave Sparrow/Sidewinder equipped F-4s a pretty tough time

Bhai - war and other things fight mentally/psychology more than physically...

Example - if PAF sabres coming towards then IAF fighter pilots could not that know it was equipped with missiles or without missiles... I would say that indian pilots were brave enough to fight the war against missiles equipped fighter planes.

It was already a win win situation for PAF.. If PAF sabres had missiles and even not then psychology advantage... Because there were no technology available to know that before face to face that sabrse was not equipped with missiles or not..

Pakistani Pilot Describes Downing of an Indian MIG

By Malcolm W. Browne Special to The New York Times
Dec. 15, 1971

AT A FIGHTER BASE, in West Pakistan, Dec. 14 — A jubilant Pakistani pilot landed his Chinese‐built MIG19 fighter here today and described how he had just fired an American‐made Sidewinder missile into an Indian MIG‐21, destroying the enemy aircraft.

Flight Lieut. Amer Ali Sherif had some lines from the Koran invoking the help of Allah taped to his flight suit. Otherwise he could have passed for an American fighter pilot.

The uniform, the mannerisms and even the slang would have seemed at home on an American base.

“There were three of us on ground support duty looking for enemy tanks,” he said. “Suddenly I spotted 10 enemy planes at 12 o'clock, Sukhcn‐7's and MIG‐21's. called the flight leader to break but [turn sharply] and we punched our stores” —that is, jettisoned external fuel tanks.
