There could be many reasons for JF-17 such as its ability to perform this operation at the moment or PAF's willingness to do it, as they don't want it to get involved in any incident that may impact its reputation. Also, the event is being covered by the media so any incident involving JFT would be seen worldwide, remember the humiliation IAF faced a few years back when they landed the jets on the road after multiple approaches. How many times have you seen K-8 or Mushak landing on the road, once or twice ? JFT will take time to do so.

But for F-16 the reason is quite obvious.
If you had noticed the difference in between landing speeds of Mirages, F-7s and JF-17s, you will have your answer as which is more demanding for such operations.....the issue with JF-17 is same as F-16....it's intakes are again much lower than say Mirage, again the issue of FOD.....If PAF can fly it's F-16s to say Turkey and UAE, not sure why would there be any issues with them operating within the country.

Well, it ain't stopping Taiwan from landing Falcons on the road even when there's a small bird flying next to it, you guys are talking about FOD ... huh.

More Falcons operating from Road from other parts of the world.

Singapore

Taiwan

Israel

PAF F-16s NOT OPERATING FROM THE MOTORWAY IS MORE LIKELY TO BE DUE THE RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED BY USA ON THEIR USAGE. SINCE WE FOUND OUT AFTER 2019 INDO - PAK SKIRMISH THAT PAF IS NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO TAKE F-16s TO OTHER UNAUTHORISED BASES WITHIN PAKISTAN WITHOUT US PERMISSION ... SO MOTORWAY MIGHT BE A BIG NAAYYYY FROM UNCLE SAM.
They lose one of their falcons, they can always get a new one. We lose one of ours, we can not replace it.

I don't remember the member, but some one answered the same question, due to lower intake of F-16 which could leads to FOD.
Why don't we see F-16's landing on Motorway just a thought?
These highway landings have more to do with the mobilizing of the ground crew for preparing the launch/recovery of aircraft. Hence it is not aircraft specific. Secondly, F-16s/JF-17s are not used for two good reasons.

Highway ops involve a certain degree of risk. Hence we avoid allocating jets for these kinds of high risk ops. These jets are much needed for combat duties, hence F-7 and Mirage guys are getting the job done to train the ground crew. Does not mean in anyway that F-16/JF-17 pilots cannot land on highways and/or their crew cannot service the aircraft in these conditions.

Reasons such as FOD and/or lack of US permission are bizzare and unfounded.

On one side you admit that such operations involve certain risk and then ridicule on FOD claim...suggest you discuss this with some one like Kaiser Tufail....besides if the exercise is only meant to train ground crew for combat aircraft then i wonder what is the purpose of landing the likes of K-8 or Mashak aircraft on motorways.

Guys .. there is no restriction on Pakistan to operate F16 anywhere in Pakistan.. if that was the case Pakistan wouldn't have used the same on 27 Feb! that's what India also thought if you remember IAF presser on the eve of Ops Swift Retort with exploded AAMRAM in their hands ... this was just to cry to uncle Sam that see your equipment is being used against us.. but nothing happened.. also we have procured these aircrafts with our tax payers money... so no restriction!

By the way who know F16 did do landing on motorway ... photos are not released to public ;)
