Here is more acknowledgment from CATIC website...

The 8th Aerospace Laureates awards ceremony was held at Zhuhai Television at 19:30 on November 12th, 2012. The Laurel Award is the most authoritative and influential prize in China’s aviation and aerospace industry. More than 400 high-level officials and elites from the government, the military, the aviation industry and civil aviation attended the ceremony to watch the disclosure of the eight awards together.

CATIC and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) won the Working Together Award due to the success of the JF17/FC-1 program. It took 15 years for CATIC and PAF to go from negotiating cooperative research and development in 1992 to the JF-17/FC-1’s delivery in 2007.

In February 1992, China and Pakistan decided to co-develop a multi-role, all-weather light fighter named “Super-7.” On August 25th, 2003, prototype #01 of the Super-7 made its first successful flight. China and Pakistan agreed to change its name to the JF-17 (Joint Fighter)/FC-1. From the beginning of 2007, the JF-17/FC-1 aircraft were delivered to the PAF in small batches.

On March 23rd, 2007, the National Day of Pakistan, a grand military parade was held in Islamabad. Covered with the national flags of China and Pakistan, a JF-17/FC-1 flew overhead and its debut won thunderous applause from the spectators. Chinese officials present at the scene were extremely excited.

On March 7th, 2009, CATIC signed a series of contracts with the PAF, including a sales contract for 42 JF-17/FC-1 aircraft, a cooperative manufacturing contract, and an avionics cooperative manufacturing contract. The total volume of the three contracts amounted to 1 billion US dollars, the largest volume in the history of China’s military trade, leading CATIC and the PAF to embrace a new stage in their cooperation.

As the key military trade program of CATIC, the JF-17/FC-1 program has encountered more difficulties and challenges than ever before. CATIC made creative use of program management methods and developed a new management mode with its own features. This program has trained a group of skillful, hard-working and devoted talents who can handle whole processes, from establishing good customer relationships to collecting both general and precise market information; from carrying out tough business negotiations to implementing entire programs; from receiving short-term high-level delegations to managing long-term expert teams. CATIC has also moved one step further along the road to become a supplier of military aircraft and services and also an integrated platform for international technology cooperation, thus accelerating the development of exporting China’s military products in the aviation industry.

Learning and cooperation is a more effective way to improve working thoughts and methods. During the implementation of the JF-17/FC-1 program, China has sent out numerous experts to assist the PAF with manufacturing and staff training. Now, the manufacturing base for the 3rd generation fighter has been established in Pakistan and the airframe and main avionics equipment of the JF-17/FC-1 can be assembled, tested, and manufactured in Pakistan. Therefore, the Pakistani people have realized their dream of being able to produce modern aviation products.

Meanwhile, plenty of Pakistani engineers and technicians have come to China for work and study. The AVIC-PAF Officer Development Program (APOD) has trained many high-level officials from the PAF. Those officials from the headquarters, military bases and combat troops of the PAF come to learn the most advanced aviation technology and modern enterprise management concepts. Their visits to the first-class aviation enterprises and research institutions help them gain insight into the development of China’s aviation industry and China’s profound culture. The study and visits also enhance the PAF’s confidence and capabilities in practice, as well as the mutual understanding between CATIC and the PAF. This cooperative mode is strengthened and improved with the process of constant exchange and communication.

In February 2010, the first JF-17 squadron of the PAF was established, making the JF-17 an official member of Pakistan’s order of battle. The second squadron was established in April 2011, and was deployed on the frontlines.

In December 2010, when Premier Wen Jiabao visited Pakistan, three JF-17/FC-1 aircraft escorted the Premier’s plane and put on an aerobatic flight show for him in Chaklala Air Base.

People of China and Pakistan always describe the Sino-Pak friendship as “higher than the mountain, deeper than the ocean, and sweeter than honey,” adding “We would rather abandon the gold than giving up our friendship.” CATIC and PAF even compare their relationship to “all-weather partners.”

In 2010, the JF-17/FC-1 made its debut in the international arena at the Farnborough International Airshow, generating major buzz. Later in November 2010, at the 8th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition held in Zhuhai, the JF-17/FC-1 demonstrated its first aerobatic flight at an international air show. In November 2011, its first appearance in the Middle East at the Dubai International Airshow again drew great attention. All media are speculating as to whether the JF-17/FC-1 will become the most popular aircraft in the next ten years.

There is no doubt that CATIC and PAF will continue to work side-by-side, pulling their forces together, and inaugurate a new era for the JF-17/FC-1 program.

Was really hoping to see large Design facilities setup in Pakistan where people would be actually desigining etc inside Pakistan after 10 years

It sees we are still doing high level Administration of requirement

Was expecting some ...progress nationally in the design related Labs

It would have been fruitful to place 5,000 Interns at Chinese firm to observe development and learn

10,000 Local Pakistani workers working on next phase at lease that is what I was thinking we would be doing after 10 years of the program launch

We have one, it is called AMF, located at KAMRA. We are still learning but things seem to be going in the rght direction. There would be no Project AZM without the jf-17 project. The design institute was just recently inaugurated as well for the said purpose.

Sir, what's the need to expose our team? Let the nay-sayers deny it..does it matter? We have the airplane, the world knows it that we manufacture it and export it ...so no problem there. The nay-sayers will still deny. While rest believe us..
I ran into a Gangadeshi troll who was denying Pakistan's indigenous missile capabilities and claimed those were copies of North Korean and Chinese missiles.. he was as confused as Gangadeshis normally are...I just told him that when we fire a few up yours...you can drown your sorrow after the tragedy by repeating this crap "oh it wasn't Pakistan's indigenous missile, it was made by North Korea" ...it just took out our biggest metropolitan area but still it is not Pakistan's indigenous design..perhaps that would reduce the pain in your body, I told him.

it is an old video and has been around for several years. No harm in sharing what is already known, after all it is a joint project.

    Thanks for sharing.

Not only are they contributing now, but when they return to Pakistan they will also bring a lot of new knowledge with them and pass it onto an even larger team.

Pakistan really has to "DO MORE" in term of making effort on local fields for Technology
Manging high level requirements is a bit less technical - high level interaction

These type of centers should have been already setup locally

The stuff done at KAMRA was exceptional but we need too Expand and improve stuff

Really has to be a 10,000-30,000 Engineer effort so it's impact is visible

Sir, I know the names of all the team members, know many of them personally and I remember my visit of AMF with my father at age 15 and I remember seeing designers using SGI Deskside systems with Delcam (state of the art systems), so it was always known in the circle and we are proud of it..

Actually these engineers are being replaced by a fresh lot. The process continues since mid 90s to this day. They played a big part in developing the fighter as well as the foundation of developing a fighter jet, which the AMF was incapable of undertaking.

I think if we relistically imagine it it has been 10 years since 2017 , and even if we started to make a Aviation Engineering segment we would have been done and completed long time ago

If we had started in 2007 , by now we would have had a good number of workforce experienced about 5 year in field

Create a Engineering Aviation Branch in this building, this can house 5,000 Engineers 0r 10,000 Engineers
    [IMG]

Tell US embassy to move to smaller office move them near "GOBAR" farm

US embassy needs have reduced lately and we can use this building now for education and Engineering needs for Pakistan :pakistan:

Would be fantastic to make Engineering center in this Building

Amreekiyon se Building lo aur Engineers hire karna suru karo, do more
