Operation Swift Retort testimony to our preparedness, professionalism: Air Chief

ISLAMABAD: “Operation Swift Retort is a testimony to our preparedness and professionalism”, said the Air Chief during the graduation ceremony of No. 32 Air War Course at Air War College Karachi.

Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the Chief Guest at the occasion.

Addressing at the occasion, the Air Chief said, “As senior military professionals, you must be aware of the contemporary geopolitical and strategic environments since it would not only have a deep influence on the overall security calculus, but its sound understanding would also facilitate better preparedness and timely response to emerging threats.”

He further said, “An important lesson which we derived from Operation Swift Retort is that despite single service application, support from sister services is essential to the success of the mission. Today’s warfare, both conventional and unconventional, no service can achieve success single-handedly. Therefore, jointness remains central to the modern concept of military operations”.

In the end the Air Chief also commended the faculty for their tireless efforts in dispensing the quality training and guidance to future military commanders.

The ceremony was also attended by various high rank Civil Military Officers and diplomats from various allied countries.

After yet another humiliation at the hands of PAF, indian air force will go all out to get as much advantage as it can before the next round.

Therefore, PAF needs to stay on top when it comes to effective counters it will need to thwart iaf's aggression in the future.

S-400, Rafael with SPECTRA EW suit, and Meteor BVR will change the entire equation in iaf's favor....IF effective counters are not deployed in a timely manner.

PAF's F-16s out-ranged and out-gunned iaf's Su-30's to the surprise of militarily inferior indians. However, if those Su-30s were Rafaels with Meteor----F-16s armed with AIM 120Cs would not be able to handle them. That's the plain truth.

PAF will be evolving as well. While InAF will be inducting a Meteor compatible platform (36 Rafaels), PAF will be introducing PL-15s on its JF-17s and so far indications are JF-17Blk-3 AESA will be a real power house in terms of detection. Azm in the pipeline to replace F-16s. Older JF-17s could get the radar swap with a air cooled AESA or use AWAC datalink to take advantage of PL-15 added range if not fire at reduced range but greater no escape zone.

Despite the keyboard warriors fuming over delays in new aircraft inductions the leadership in PAF has proven they are very competent and can deliver in their limited resources.

The Rafael will be intended as a Multi role jet and expected to take over from Mirage 2000s in strike role so they have a hefty burden. Shortfalls in InAF planning has been severely exposed.

Project AZM is a day dreaming for us we don't have the industrial base to undertake such project. It's just a rebranding of Chinese 5 generation jet which isn't ready yet in China.

So what other options we have, that we can get Latest military hardware, USA forget it, EU (Typhoon) extremely expensive, Sweden (Gripen-NG) not willing to sell to Pakistan, Russia (Su-35) want a hard cash @umair86

Even JF-17, a sanctions-free, cost effective aircraft in large numbers, was day-dreaming for Pakistan once upon a time. I understand that we don't have a large industrial base but we can help with parts. Controlled incubation and R&D are possible in a smaller setting in Pakistan. The JSF program has some interesting insights for how smaller, less industrialized countries can participate and still bring value.

No, we gained lots of tech from JF-17 project, its basically a research project, Project AZM will have lots of indigenous tech on it especially in Avionics/radar/IRST/ETOS, ECM/EW sectors InshAllah @umair86

Within a couple of minutes the PAF has changed the geo-strategic calculus involving the most ambitious folks to Pak’s favor!! It’s a zero sum game with amplified differentials and integrals in favor of Pak....

JF-17s were flying CAPs frequently and could've easily engaged if the Vipers were to head home or further on.

    Hi,

Jf17 is up to the task---.

What's up with this thing 'chinese product' thing---. Most of our operational equipment is chinese---and it has been working pretty good.

Let us not get carried away---. Pakistani kids and adults need to understand WAR---. The information that is coming out is intentionally confusing and who did what---is always going to stay hazy for quite sometime---.

Paf has confidence in the JF17---about its abilities and capabilities---and for that very reason---there is a new BLK coming in--- & it is also being presented for sale---.

Now as for the project AZM---and Paf doing it all by themselves---that is a big NO NO---it should not be done---it should not happen---it should not be allowed---.
