If that's the case, even Bangladesh would. But it doesn't.

There is some world Bank report somewhere about BD's failure to even manufacture textile machinery spares- will try to find it.

I guess those rocket launches are far, far away.

Bangladesh is a country that survives on low technology RMG exports, which exists thanks to the charity of the west & the fact that Bangladesh is an LDC. It's a proto-industrial country comparable to the likes of Papua New Guinea.

Also, according to latest statistical data posted above, Bangladesh has just 54% sanitation coverage. And according to the latest MPI report, it's poverty rates & significantly higher than India too.

The same poor & sanitation-deficient Bangladesh is importing a 2.4 GW nuclear power plant at $12.65 Billion.

India meanwhile is building ten 700 MW PHWRs of indigenous design & manufacture at a cost of $13 billion.

I wonder about the cost to the society. Hmm..

In the real world you had covid genocide and couldn’t even supply enough firewood to burn your dead.

Your people threw dead bodies into rivers.

Your government is throwing humongous amount of cash into 40 year old nuclear and rocket technology.

In the meantime 2/3 of people are going without food and sanitation.

Unemployment is sky rocketing and farmers are forced to sell their daughters to loan sharks.

That’s your reality check!

Dude, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you are not a troll old poster under a new ID.

BD can produce almost everything for something like below (except processor etc):

Captura de pantalla 2022-11-27 a las 15.57.58.png

Yes dude that is a 4K TV with both the design and the panel being manufactured in BD itself - only last year BD was importing 4K display panels for these TVs.

Now since you think India is so much more advanced, please explain how BD now has GDP per capita PPP at the same level as India and at current growth differentials will be 20% ahead by 2030?

Give it up as BD is regaining its position as the richest region of the subcontinent which it had when the British arrived in the 18th century.

Not only textile machinery this country was unable to manufacture even nuts and bolts. Only recently, WALTON has started to do so. Hopefully, some other companies will follow it.

BD is a country that claims development without the manufacturing capability of mechanical products, machines, motors, or engines.

Yet, our believers of Hasinanomics think BD will become a $1 trillion economy.

But, we do not need to give India any port facilities in Chittagong.

O Boltu Mia, what are the names of those companies that can produce machines, engines or motors in Bangladesh? How about your own boltu company inside your head? Can you design and manufacture such tiny things?

If not, why do you shout BD is a fast developing country? You must have borrowed Hasina’s ignorant brain. I can see it in the picture above.

In the long run, India might find Myanmar more viable for trade routes to its North-Eastern states once the Kaladan Multimodal Project is completed for India-Myanmar transit. The more India relies on Myanmar for its access to North-East, Myanmar will also grow in economic benefits from India.
Yes, you are a genius. BD would love to see India- MM relationship become zBhaiBhai.

But, please do not bother BD anymore. We still remember India wanted area for its Airport in Tripura.

Are you guys sane?

Indians are too smart. There is obviously no benefit in it for Bangladesh.

Indian ports aren't run any better than ours, maybe with the exception of JNPT Mumbai and Adani in Gujarat.

The entirety of Indian East Coast ports' (Half dozen of them) container handling capacity (TEU's) is lower than Chittagong. And not only Bangladesh is developing/refurbishing two newer ports, they are tripling Chittagong's container capacity. We absolutely don't need Indian ports.

It is another "arjee" (request) by Indians to develop their moribund economy. In fact the entire transit thing is also part of it so they can get Indian influence in the seven sisters (who will eventually all be independent countries).

See the movie "ANEK" in Netflix. It will tell you a lot about the Nagaland independence movements.

I know they over-dramatize it Bollywood style, but the movements are real. Indians are trying to get Indian influence in these places, but it is too late and too little.

We should not help India transport stuff to the NorthEast. Why should we?

These are backward integration and supporting economies to Bangladesh' development. Why should we shoot ourselves in our own feet?

Bangladeshi goods should go to these states to consume - not Indian goods.
BD should ask India to buy from BD whatever goods its NE needs. We buy limestones and boulders from Indian NE. Should be reciprocal.

Problem solved in a second!!

India has followed a subservient model in IT but a nativist model in manufacturing.

Result is that their IT sector is very competitive but their manufacturing sector in extremely uncompetitive.

Bangladesh has followed a subservient model for everything. Result is BD is extremely competitive in manufacturing.

Both Bangladesh and India need to create millions of jobs over this decade otherwise there will be social carnage.

Your nativist policy doesn’t produce jobs in a globalised world. You have to specialise in a few things instead of trying to produce everything including nuts and bolts.

Whilst Indians can boast about producing everything - it is not creating the jobs.

Display panels are dominated by the likes of Samsung (currently exiting the business), LG & Chinese TCL and you want me to believe that this company no one knows about designs & manufactures them?

Display Fabs are multi billion dollar investments, and no one in Bangladesh has enough moolah to invest into them.

Also if you think this company has such R&D capabilities, please do provide their R&D expenditure, work force employed in R&D & a few patents filed by them. I made this offer to your friend Bilal a few days before, and the challenge is open to every one.

Please show me at least three (3) products that has been developed in Bangladesh with a decent level of engineering/ technological input and development costs in at least tens of millions. With proper details of development budget, project directors, R&D and test infrastructure.

I can probably show a hundred of those from India, but I will still accept that you are technologically ahead of India & have every rights to mock us- if you manage to show me three such products that is.

BTW your GDP per capita would have a correction soon thanks to depreciation of your currency & IMF's monitoring of your statistical data. Wait & watch.

I think I may be talking with the reincarnation of the Tamil nilgiri here it seems but one last post to you before permanently ignore I think as you seem to be a waste of space.

Walton has QUADRUPLED it's revenues in just 7 years and it both designs and manufactures it's own 4K display panels. Last year it broke through the billion US dollar barrier and exported around 30 million US dollars overseas - around 100% growth from previous year.

It used to offer just a single 4K TV as late as 2021 which had a panel made by TCL.

Now, it offers several 4K TVs and it both designs and manufactures the panels from scratch pretty much.

"Walton incorporates technology panels with ISO Class Seven Dust Free Clean Room which provide viewers large viewing angles and high contrast pictures experience with great energy efficiency"

FYI, those that buy panels do not need these dust free clean rooms.:azn:

Yes Walton does not R&D new tech like Samsung and LG does for sure but it is able to design and build it's own 4K panels using the current existing tech for sure.

Just burn as that nilgiri clown spent years doubting BD GDP per capita nominal as it did not match with the PPP figure but now even the PPP figure is identical to India.:sniper:

:blah: :blah:

How about some real stats, Mr. Banana?

Multidimensional poverty rates;

India: 16.4
Bangladesh 24.6%

Also,

India 71%
Bangladesh 54%

That's some reality check right there. More such reality checks are on the way as you burn through your forex reserves & taka finds it's real value.

Bangladesh isn't competitive in manufacturing, exporting RMG on GSP quota is nothing to write home about.

And the lack of non-RMG industries in Bangladesh is the reason for Bangladesh's forex crisis despite the country having a relatively lower fuel import bill.

Bangladesh lacks the skilled workforce needed to diversify into non-RMG sectors whether it's for local consumption or exports.

I have already posted data about your logistics sector where container dwell times in your largest port is 10 days. The only reason why you are still surviving are A) GSP quota & B) extremely low wages.

No you can't. :D

Muppets are talking about special trade privileges as a major reason why BD garment industry is so strong.

News for them as BD has had none in US since 2013 and was exporting near 1 billion dollars to the US every month. Exports to US have exploded due to price quality ratio that BD can offer.

Ignorant people who know nothing about what BD people are capable of - they were maybe the richest and one of the most technologically advanced just 300 years ago during the time of the Mughal empire.

BD'shis are an anomaly in a historically backward region. They are more like Western Europeans and East Asians in terms of human progress and the last 2 centuries will be seen as an anomaly.
