The Rafale being sold to India are over priced, and considering the current controversy that Modi is wrapped in currently, buying more over priced Rafales will just become ammunition for the opposition. The opposition may end up accusing him of corrupt and taking bribes from Dassault, which would end up with a long investigation, causing an international relations nightmare for Modi. Even if it turns out that Modi is innocent, the damage will already be done.

Modi can't afford even more problems on top of the farmers protests, and the current economic problems due to covid (and his own incompetence).
no its pretty easy , just say we need them for pakistan and everyone will say yes sir
It is a fact Indian Fighter pilots fear the F-16 of the Pakistan Air force, I will not have said this without personal experience.

cheers
doesnt matter its extremely unlikley that we will get any more f16s, the best we can hope for is an upgrade package for aging MLUs

USA found out that stick alone works and carrot maes india very itcy, something they cannot afford

It matters a lot --- never said any thing about F-16 upgrades or purchases.

The psychology plays an extremely important role - I suggest study warfare history.

Speculations are ongoing about J-10C... I was in my teens when every other month we would hear of PAF exploring the options of M2k5 either new or second hand... the mere stories of it all made me so excited and at the end here we are in 2021 and none of those airframes ever flew with us...
I do want to make a point though... we do not have those aviation photography enthusiasts who pry for any new air frames flying out of manufacturing sites or maybe airbases.. especially like the Chinese enthusiasts... maybe some of our speculative queries would be answered through them...

elon musk needs to stick to cars and space.

theres many a reason why UAVs can never replace manned platforms entirely, ill leave it to you to figure out why. Hint, one of the arguement involves ethics, the other, offboard controls in a contested environment.

Sounds like you just are buying in to the whole OmG dRonEz R tHe BeSt FuTuRe TeChNoLoGy BS.

Elon also said, an F35 would have no chance against a drone. Guy is an idiot. He may be great with cars and other shit, but he doesnt know what hes talking about here. Its for the same reason you dont ask an engineer for medical advice, or a doctor to build a plane etc
Elon musk has beaten NASA researchers. What are you talking about?

Israel is HEAVILY invested in drone programs and they're on top of the world for a reason. Are they stupid as well?
What about the Turks who just proved in Armenia-Azerbaijan war how important drones are.

I think Pakistan already sold their drone program long ago.

Why do you think the Indians made and continue to make such a fuss about Pakistani f-16s?
That hue and cry was raised to substantially distance the u.s from Pakistan, which also isnt a new thing for indians to do . Itd be idiotic to assume that iaf fears a handfull pakistani version of handicapped f16's when there are other more potent and advanced categories of aircrafts available to us

Well they can claim whatever they want but the world demands proof. Where's the shot down f-16?. Its been 2 years and still nowhere to be found.
They can find A C 5 in a pile of dung called India but they cannot locate a big F16. Even if it crash landed in Pakistan they should have enough assetts to take a couple of Photographs and propagate it via their press. So in short it is harder to find an F16 than a 120C5:yahoo::woot::astagh:

@JamD @SQ8 so it looks like the PAF is taking the 'brutally honest' path... off-the-shelf fighter for the 2020s and 2030s, and a true in-house NGFA for the 2040s.
